I just bought some Maca Powder online from here. All up with postage, 500g cost $31.90.

I read that it was good for helping with menopause symptoms, plus I want to make the Energy Bars!
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Has anyone made these bars substituting coffee instead of the Crio Bru?

I made these today, mainly for DH to take to work as a treat with his cuppa.

I firstly blanched the almonds in the TM, then roasted them in the oven, adding the cinnamon stick for a few mins to help dry out before following the rest of the recipe.

I don't have the crio bru beans and wasn't sure if I was supposed to use coffee beans in place of, so today I just used 15g of instant espresso granules instead.

For the granache, I used 200g dark choc and 120ml of water with 1 tsp of the instant coffee dissolved.

This is a very nice slice.  It reminds me of something, but I can't think of what.  I loved the hit of orange and the roasted nuts really made it.  Will make again.  :D

Lovely photo and end product Julie. Did you use the Maca powder, surely this recipe could be made without it for those on a budget?
