Drinks / Re: Coffee Liqueur as part of Frangelico cream martini.

This was delicious, thank you! It turned out more ice cream like than I expected, and we ended up adding some maple syrup which worked perfectly :D .

Thanks so much for the advice :) .

In case anybody else is in a similar situation, I'll report back ... I emailed my problem through to TMX central and they confirmed that I needed to send my machine in. They warned that it would involve courier charges each way and a minimum $33 for a quote, then sent me packing instructions and asked me to let them know when my TMX was ready for collection.

A lovely friend who is a consultant was kind enough to drop off an original box with foam padding, so that was simple.

The courier picked up on a Friday, I had a call from TMX on the Wednesday to say that I needed a new motor and a new bowl base. I gave the go ahead and my credit card number immediately to authorise a $289 repair, and my machine was delivered back on the Thursday (actually Friday as I missed the first delivery  :'( ) .

It's fabulous to have my TMX working smoothly again - I hadn't realised how noisy it has been!

Unfortunately I now have to call and order a replacement top tray for my Varoma, but I am now fully confident that TMX will be very helpful about it!

Really, I couldn't have asked for better service :) .

My Thermomix is broken and will need repairing. I'm wondering what the average repair cost and timeframe is? I'd be sending it off from Canberra, and I'm fairly certain it will need significant work (happy to be wrong, but my husband thinks some of the bearings have "gone", and he's usually spot on with diagnostics...).

The budget is pretty tight this month, so I'm very keen to get some examples of repair costs...

All In One Meals using the Varoma / Re: Pasta with Meatballs
« on: August 31, 2013, 09:51:26 am »
Made this tonight with half beef half chicken and it was FABULOUS! Thank you!  ;D I bought 500gm each of the chicken and beef mince so have another batch of meatballs in the freezer for a busy day.

Thanks, I made this today and love the flavour, but thought I'd add that I needed an extra 25 minutes at Varoma temperature (with the basket on top) to get this to setting point.

Main Dishes / Re: Meatballs in Tomato Sauce (Varoma)
« on: January 23, 2013, 01:48:07 am »
I made this last night, doubling the meatball mixture (I couldn't fit it all in the Varoma, so will make a couple of hamburger patties today) and using 200gm fresh tomatoes, so the sauce was a bit yellow but still delicious.

We all enjoyed it - thank you! Now I'm off to find this fabled garlic rice...  ;D

Soups / Re: Tomato soup using canned tomatoes

I made this today and it's excellent! Thank you so much  :) .

I used 3 tsp chicken stock concentrate and left out the salt and since we eat it with grated cheese and cracked black pepper, it doesn't need any further seasoning :) .

I would have preferred to save the money on my consultant! I LIKE my consultant, but I knew I wanted a TMX before I had a demo, and I only needed help when I had a blade break under warranty which I could have managed via head office. At $1000 I could afford to replace mine when it dies (and now that it's out of warranty, it's starting to give me more error messages :( ) and still feel I was getting good value out of it.

Knowing Vorwerk prevent TMX being sold in Australia for a reasonable price because they want to keep their demo sales model going really irritates me - I'd love my mother and sister to be able to afford one too!

Cakes / Re: 'Choc Ripple' Biscuits (dairy free version too)
« on: February 17, 2012, 08:16:50 pm »
This is great! I've made a big batch for our cake stall today :) (had to make extra because more than usual disappeared from the cooling racks!  ;D ) .

Only some of mine get the "ripple" effect though  :-[ but they still taste great. I think my oven temperature is a little unpredictable...   ???

Did anybody try freezing this? I have an eggplant that needs using but doesn't fit in my meal plan for another couple of weeks...  ;)

I just made this for afternoon tea and it was scrumptious! Thank you!

I'm going to make into muffins to take to our preschool brunch tomorrow  ;D . I also used our apple slinkie :), and used 3 large-ish apples to up the fruit content :) .

Chit Chat / Re: What do people expect/want from a consultant?
« on: February 26, 2011, 08:57:07 pm »
I really like my consultant, but it was hard because she lives on the other side of town and likes to use the phone to communicate where I'm most definitely an emailer (with six kids around the house, it's more efficient that way!).

I would have liked to have more information about special deals and demos (I think I've sold an easy half-dozen TMX to friends who caught my enthusiasm and would have loved to know about the special deals), and then when I did have the Varoma demo it was much more a "hard sell" night than I'd anticipated so I felt embarrassed having invited my friends (who were interested in the TMX but turned off by the sell!).

But when the chips were down and my blades had broken my consultant really came through for me! She arranged a loan set of blades while the new ones came from Perth :D .
