Thanks, wow what a lot of tips. Look I am concerned about mine- I havent had a "burn" or a disaster, but for isntance when I warm yogurt (eg milk for yogurt!!! Yeck, imagine warm yogurt), it sometimes sort of catches. I have a very weak wrist and no elbow grease so struggle to rub and rub with a cloth but I feel this is the best thing. I've done vinegar, I've done bicarb, but I haven't done the vinegarplus detergetn whcih I might try over night.... I shall report!Nicole

Suggestions and Complaints / food on bottom of thermomix concern
« on: May 08, 2012, 07:14:35 am »
Hi all! My thermomix is about 5 weeks old. I am noticing a build up on the bottom of the bowl- I have cleaned and cleaned it, I have tried vinegar etc. I have a thermomix brush. I have also tried elbow grease and a soft cloth. How much build up is too much? Do you have any build up on the bottom part of your thermomix or is it spotless? I am working on the idea that it would be better to keep it spotless as this buildup will get harder to clean off but I am really struggling to clean it off. ANy other suggestions to remove this? Cheers Nicole

Thank you so far... I think that's the answer, someone said pop in a plastic bag so the bits stay in one place. Cant really smash with hammer due to the wrist injury so concrete it is as I am desparate to try the CADA recipe!!!  Other suggestions welcome :-)

Oh many thanks for fast answers, both those recipes are missing the milk powder, and have shortened the initial cooking... so I will definitely be trying those two later this week. Much appreciated :-)

Breakfast / BURNING YOGURT- HELPPPPPP!!
« on: April 08, 2012, 11:41:03 am »
I have made yogurt in my 10 day old thermie 3 times and each time, after the first long cooking session it has "caught" on the bottom and been quite close to burnt. This comes off easily enough and the yogurt turns out great but I am worried that it will eventually damage my thermie! TIPS PLEASE :-)  I am following the EDCB recipe which calls for 800g milk and 50 g milk powder,. I wondered if it was the powder burning. maybe I will try the next batch without?? Cheers Nic
