I have an I*A bag that I take with me when I go shopping. It is huge and I can always fit everything in it. I always take the bag cos otherwise I get too many plastic bags, but like to keep some bags on reserve cos they are very handy.

Some businesses and supermarkets make me a little hot under the collar with their so called "enviromental" change of ways with no plastic bags offered. I think they should give a 1c discount based on a monetary total on what they would also SAVE BY NOT PROVIDING A BAG, instead of charging 10c etc for the option. They should also provide cardboard boxes for customers to choose a suitable size from, seeing as most of their boxes just get flattened and packed off for someone to collect instead of customers using and recycling. This topic is very close to my heart.

Maybe we could just mutter 'varoma' or something very tmxish under our breaths when we pass people in the supermarket.
bahahaha Lellyj !!

Some enterprising thermolover should design shopping bags for us, maybe a butterfly design (grey plastic kind).

Someone told me that you lose 50% of your brain cells with the birth of a child . . . and I've had 3 so that puts me in deficit . . . that's my excuse!!  Although the menopause excuse is kicking in too!

Fundj, my middle child is very environmentally aware and wants to save the planet . . . I feel terrible if I forget the bags and have been known to place a note on my steering wheel to remind me!! And I often walk to the shops with the dog and the bags are kept where the dog lead is!!

i think its important to keep in touch with family...i ring my family every other day...and do webcam once a week as thats the only day that everyone is home at the same time!! It makes it easier when they are so far away..

It is amazing the wonders of modern technology for keeping in touch.  We lived overseas in England, Canada and the US when I was growing up and phone calls were so expensive they were only for birthdays and Christmas.  We used to make cassette tapes to send to my grandmothers and thought that was very high tech at the time.  I remember sitting around the recorder making one, when my little brother looked up with a confused face and said . . . If Nanny can hear us, why can't we hear her?!

If you want something to be a habit or commit to memory, you have to do it at least 12 or 21 times - I would say 21...but would recommend persisting with this one.

Thank goodness LJ I've had 3 kids too so I am deficient also and can blame the kids cos I'm not blonde  ;D

Great idea, Vivaroo!! That would be our way of signalling to other thermophiles AND save the planet!!  I seriously think someone should take you up on that.  ARe there any printers or logo people out there in thermoland?
