Doing well.  No shopping day yesterday,  but still managed to spend $43.  However came home with a 4.8K. turkey for $18.  Had trouble fitting it into freezer.  Danish Feta on special and tray of Cass. Steak. Reduced.
Judy,   Does you good to splash out occasionally.  Nothing will be wasted.
Hally,  I feel for you with those nasties in the pantry and visitors coming.   Expensive times.

I have two ridiculously full freezers and have been trying to stick to my challenge of eating from them.  Only spent about $50 this week, hopefully next week will be similar.

Good one Michele.  The shopping list for the next week does grow though when you have a $0 or low spend one week.

I had a huge one last week but if I can hang out for 2 more days, I will have a $0 spend this week to even things up again.

Managed to come in just on $100 this week.  This included the $18 Turkey.   Hally don't worry too much,  very difficult when you have a house full.  just do the best you can.

Phew, I got there - another $0 week for me but I needed it after last week's blow-out. This is my third for the year.

I'm afraid my average weekly shop is nearly $200. That includes meat, milk, fruit and veggies and all the rest. When we travel it is less as I don't cook as much. A few weeks at Monkey Mia  is minimal so I guess that helps.

Yes totally under budget this week :) $79.93

Next week my budget is $200 as I have 6 people to feed over 5-6 days.

Hooing once visitors have left will be able to stay in budget.

We have 2 adults, 2 kids (ages just-about-6 & 3).

I think including non-food stuff too (cleaning, pet food) I would average $160pw at the moment.  Trying to cut back, and have just had a run of restocking the fridge/freezer/pantry.  And that would work out to just about AUD$135

I was trying to get it down to $125, but finding I'm over budget all the time, so adjusting my goal to NZ$150 for now  :)  When I get there, I will reassess!
Got to organise DS's birthday party in a couple of weeks, so I'd better put aside a separate budget for that!

Last week, after a $0 week, I spent $116.04 and this week - well with DH in hospital and me having a bit of spare time, I went on a leisurely food shop on the way home from the hospital the other day to the fishmongers, the meat wholesalers, Farmer Jo's & Foodland and I spent $233.27  :-)) :P ;D  Meat & fish is all frozen so that's not a problem but I didn't know what I wanted for Good Friday so I bought 3 different lots of seafood - prawns, salmon & flathead and in the veg shop I just went mad and picked up every vegetable that I liked and my fridge is absolutely chockers with it.  Seeing as there is just me at home and may well be all over Easter, what was I thinking  ???  I've been looking at lots of nice vegetarian dishes in magazines lately and I think I bought every thing I need to make them all.  Might have to start cooking and freezing, making soups and in the end if it all starts to wilt, lots of vegetable stock concentrate.  It won't go to waste, I will make sure of that. Spending money must be good therapy and having too much time to go shopping, something unusual for me of late, well this is what happens.
