Good on you Judy.
Yes spending money makes you feel good, takes the sadness away.
Last trip to Melb, i gave dh $200 for sundries, spent it all plus a large amount on cc, from what I could see on nothing!
. Cc was a book & meals for his family. $200 cash in 2 days just gone.
Jo-nz, yes will stick to $135, dont want it too low its unacheivable or too high your wasting money.

I'm glad you had a liesurely shop Judy and get to make some lovely meals. Try and do it a few more times before Geoff is able to come home when time will be tighter, maybe not food, clothes, books, kitchen gear, the sky's the limit when it comes to shopping.

Glad you had time to shop Judy.
We spent $180 this week, but that was coffee, and dishwasher detergent, which was $33 for those 2.
Normally I spend $160 per week.

I've not contributed to this in ages but I still try and keep my shopping total to a minimum. I have made an almost complete switch to Aldi finding that the stuff that usually bumps up a food shop (meat, toiletries etc) are so much cheaper. I blew out to $200 the other week but can honestly say I have enough food to last me a month. I just need to top up my fresh food.

Blew the budget on Easter Eggs. Can't believe how expensive they are.

Now that I have rediscovered by thermomix, I'm planning on sticking to $100 a week. Given that it's just me & DS, there's no reason why it shouldn't be even lower. My plan is now to bypass the supermarket as much as possible, and do ALL of my shopping at the South Melbourne Market. I'm going to go on Thursday morning's while DS is at kinder. Hopefully they won't be busy, and because I won't have DS with me, it should be a low-stress/anxiety event, which is the main reason I avoid markets at the moment. I currently do my shopping on Coles Online at the moment, and they had decor food saver containers quite cheap this week so I stocked up on them and I'm going to make a few batches of soup and freeze them for lunches. Healthy and low-cost. I want to make sure that now that I'm not working that I don't fall into a trap of going out a lot or eating badly. I'm renewing my costco membership next week, and I'm going to buy the stuff that I would normally buy from the supermarket in bulk, like paper towel, toilet paper and canned tomatoes. I have a drum of flour, probably about 8kg's - I bought that in bulk from Costco as well. I'm going to bake our bread and
try
to do everything from scratch. I'm really looking forward to it, this is what I wanted a thermomix for in the first place. Very excited!

Hally, will buy another side of lamb in another month.
Still have heaps of beef, and we bought heaps more fish and seafood too, and pork, all at once.
now today to sort out the other freezer.
