Trudy has just informed me that this recipe of mine is in the latest Meat Book but no-one had even informed me of it.  However, they have me down as a consultant from WA not a customer from SA - Tenina I will be emailing you  :D :D

Congratulations Judy.  Like you I didn't realise my Beetroot Dip recipe was in the Festive Book until a friend rang and told me.

Oh Chookie, what a lovely avatar - you look like all the other grandma's  ;D ;D  Wait until I show my GD that.  She loves looking at the pictures on this forum.  I showed her the chocolate bunnies, changed the wording when I read what they said and she asked if there were anymore jokes to look at.

Thanks MJ.  Because of your comments I have revisited this recipe today.  Minced 500g topside steak (didn't do it as finely as shop bought mince), added less water (200g) and added 210g mixture of finely diced zucchini and sliced beans at the same time as the water and other ingredients. These days I think my TMX is a little tired and hardly moves the food on soft speed so I tend to use speed 1 or even 2 at times.  Left the MC on for most of the cooking once the water was added seeing as how I had reduced it and it didn't need to evaporate.  It ended up thick enough for us over rice or with mashed potatoes.
Thanks Judy, I'll change my recipe to show less water. I used shop bought mince, but I was pleased that it didn't break up into tiny bits.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Thanks guys  :-* :-* :-*  This is my favourite place to post recipes but it is nice to have at least one in a book which can be handed down through the ages - years down the track someone can say proudly 'that is my great-great-great-grandmother'  ;D ;D ;D
