Hi everyone, although late in the day.
I have been to the dietician today. She put me on this machine like a set of scales and it told me all sorts of interesting things about me. Some of which I didn't want to hear. I have lots of muscle which is good.
I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes about a month ago. Thank goodness for My Fitness Pal. Chookie thanks for putting me onto it a long time ago. I use it to track the sugar in the food I eat. It is difficult to go from looking at fat to checking sugar. I can control it by diet which is wonderful news and so far things are going well.
Another tiny hill in life to be climbed, things could have been much worse.

You have done very well to firstly understand what needs to be done and secondly, being able to manage it by diet cookie. I find a diabetic diet one of the hardest things to understand, not that I am diabetic but in the past I've had high readings and looking into it I found it difficult to understand the whole concept. I guess the dietician was able to give some good advice. Keep up the good work cookie xx

Your right Judy it can be confusing. We have a son in law who is a type 1 and my Mum is type 2. I had always thought they were the same until my Mum was diagnosed. Sean has to eat carbs at least 4 times a day and my Mum shouldn't eat them! It's so funny to hear them at times arguing about the differences in their diets!!

Judy please give your Mum an extra hug and wish her Happy Birthday. That is wonderful.
Denise I can't even begin to imagine -7 degrees. That is very cold. You were very brave to go walking at that temperature.

Afternoon all.
Birthday wishes to your Mum, Judy. That is a fine old age.
We have been to Melb today, hair cut and Dr for Shingles jab. This injection is free if you are between 70 and 79 years of age. It is $220 if not.
We had lunch at a Lebonese restaurant. Very nice and cheap.
CC, the cold weather has come very quickly. Like the sound of the fur lined boots.

Thanks girls, Mum had a lovely day and I joined them for lunch (I do that every day but today I ordered what they were having, sweet & sour pork - it was delicious). After lunch they played bucket ball, harder than it looks to knock that ball off the bucket.
