I would love to give Uni's Lemoncello a go but I can't find where to buy pure alcohol.

Use Vdka. Much easier than  looking for pure alcohol unless you know someone who does home  brewing.

I just saw that lemoncello recipe too and was wondering where to buy pure alcohol from...I've never seen it? What is it...like pure ethanol?

I watched Jamie's 30 minute meals a few weeks ago and he used lemoncello to make tiramisu (soaked the sponge biscuits in it). That was the first I'd heard of it, but want to give it a shot!

Pure alcohol,cannot travel by air unless packaged as a hazardous material according to the Dangerous Goods Regulations.

It could travel by road or rail with special,packaging and circumstances.

Pure alcohol [ Ethanol ]  is both volatile and flammable , what is more you  can't drink it .

What you  want to use for Limoncello is  a lower proof about 40% or less alcohol.  Vodka is fine. When  you add your lemons, sugar and water it lowers the alcohol. Commercial limoncello  is usually lower than 20% much lower in some brands.

With one litre  of high grade Vodka you could easily make two 750 mil bottles of  Limoncello or three nice bottles of 500 mils for Christmas pressies.  A very  nice gift for a special person.

I am positive you would not enjoy the experience of drinking pure alcohol at all  so go with Vodka .

I don't think too many people can wait once the initial lemon-soaking-in-vodka stage is over Marina.  I tasted Karen's last Saturday and I know she only put it down on the 22nd and we were there on the 27th - so if you are in a hurry, it's fine.

Uni if you were to soak the lemon peel any longer than a week or more (say a month), would the flavour be much more lemony?
