So sorry Uni about the latest news. Thinking of you all. Very sad for MIL and the whole family.
marie you will be fine. I have had my nose cauterised lots over the years and it makes a huge difference. The silver nitrate does a good job. Such a relief not to be bleeding when out and about or driving.
Yvette hope you DH feels better and you can get on with your holiday now.
Welcome home chookie, nothing like home.
Thinking of everyone in the danger zones and suffering extreme heat. We find it hard to imagine how awful it must be.
Please take care.

Woken up to some good news and some bad news. Good luck to those on the mend but Uni, so sorry to hear about Frank's Dad. Stroke victims are so hard to look after, there are several where Geoff is, and your MIL would not be able to care for him at home - it's sad and I hope she will come to accept the decision. Life is cruel and we never know what's around the corner for us to deal with. Just be there for her and your FIL is all I can suggest.
Welcome home after your time away Chookie, nice to hear the chooks are OK.

Good news that your DH is out of hospital Yvette.
I'm sorry to hear the latest news on your FIL Uni.
Cookie, glad you had a nice holiday and that everything was ok when you came home.
Another worrying night here for DS. The fires are only about 10km away so they are all on standby with the cars packed. We brought the girls home with us last night as they were a bit on edge.

I hope they get the fires under control before they come any closer. At least they are prepared and can get in the cars and go.

Cocaine is drug of choice in nasal surgery. You will find it in most operating theatre safes. Sometimes it tends to get spilled !!! Even though it is weighed or scooped very carefully it sometimes goes missing. Inevitably the nurses are suspected because the anaesthetists and surgeons are above reproach on their god like pedestals. It pays to belong to the nurses union even if you are not normally a joiner. It is also wise to be loud and aggressive and stand your ground if accused.
In my experience when drugs go missing you should look to the medical staff with the
courtesy
title of Dr in front of their name. Generally doctors are Bachelors of Medicine until they undertake a doctorate degree. There are many functional drug addict and alcoholics amongst the fraternity. Nurses too for that matter.
Cocaine is not normally held in the wards and is used exclusively in the Theatre. It is a very cheap and efficient.

Wow did not know that. Very interesting. Mum had nose surgery last year. Think I might tell her she snorted cocaine during it! Naughty kimmy, naughty 😉😝

Just popped on for a quick catch up after putting DH on a train and feeding the sheep, and it's amazing what one finds on here.
