Good morning everyone.  It's going to be warm here today too.

I'm so unorganized this year that I wonder if I will ever catch up :(  I realised yesterday that I hadn't even order the meat for Christmas dinner.  A quick trip to the butcher fixed that but I still have plenty to do.

Mab, I also feel like I am in a mess at the moment. Too much food in fridge and I keep cooking.

Same here Chookie and Mab. Where did the time go?
I still have gift shopping, food shopping, cooking, cleaning and tidying to do  :P
Christmas will be a simple affair this year. There is only 4 of us at home because DH is spending as much time as possible with MIL as this will be her last Christmas  :'(  She is about 1,500 km away. Well, you work with what you got so Christmas will happen, but not in the usual way.

As long as your version happens Gayle. ;D
I am all organised, presents wrapped under the tree, lawns are mow]ed, pool looks great, plenty of drinks, ice, fridge space. Masses of food, nibbles. We close Friday lunch time for 2 weeks.  :D
My Thermomix,  Kitchen Aid, Pizza oven, Nu Wave 5 in 1, Spatulas, all brings love, laughter, happiness, and great food  to my kitchen.

How lovely of your DH to do that Gayle, a sad time for you all. I’m sure it will all come together for you and the rest of the family but you will miss having DH there.

Our last week at work; we close at 2.00pm on Saturday (and I am not even counting the minutes .... much!) then we have three weeks off - the longest holiday we have had for more than 20 years.  DH finished on Saturday so that he could get some work done around the house before I join him on Saturday, but he will come back to work one week before we re-open so that he can get some major projects finished before we re-open in 2018 ... imagine that, 2018 already, NYE 1999/2000 just doesn't seem that long ago.

My nephew and his wife are coming down from Brisbane for a few days later this week.  Staying a day or so with us and a couple of days with Claudia's family before heading back to BNE for Xmas day.  I thought I was organised but we had a major spare bed fail last week so I am afraid they are sleeping on camping mattresses on the floor!

Gosh 3 weeks off Marina, that will give you a small taste of how retirement feels!  Have a great break, enjoy your visitors and have a wonderful Christmas.

Good afternoon everyone.  32 deg here at the moment.

I'm starting to get a bit more organized.  Did all the Christmas food shopping this morning except for the meat, will pick that up Saturday.  All the presents wrapped and under the tree.   We are having all the family again this year so there will be 14 of us around the table.  House work tomorrow and then afternoon tea with a friend for her birthday.  Also have DIL birthday Christmas eve.

Marina, enjoy your visitors and have a nice break ofver the holiday season.

That's very thoughtful of your DH Gayle.  We had a similar experience some years ago when my Dad passed away.  A very sad Christmas that year.

Marina how exciting for you. Enjoy every moment of it.

Gayle, enjoy your slightly different Christmas. I'm sure there will be lots of phone calls.
I think we find as the years go by that our Christmases change. I suppose it is as family members leave us and new ones come into our lives.

Maybe a bit cooler than that here, but not much, with thunderstorms predicted this afternoon.

Good morning everyone, our cool change arrived overnight and we received 10mm of rain in my suburb.
My garden thanked me as I wandered around it this morning.
