I've been baking fruit cakes, tidying the house, washing and generally getting ready to go away.

Cookie, all that housework makes me think you are getting around a little bit easier.
I envy you the warm change in weather happening soon. It got so so cold here in Perth yesterday.

There are a couple of schools that do the Deb Ball... I like the fact that girls can partake in the traditions, and hopefully understand the significance of the event -what it meant for women in years gone by and what it means for them today.

Cookie, it certainly does sound like you are adjusting to things, looking at your fb page, you are still managing to cook up a storm!

I just have to share with my forum friends that my super DH organised a special Mother's Day surprise for me....a TM5! I don't think many of my friends 'get it' but know that everyone here will! It should arrive in the next few days!!!
I have a Facebook page with all things cooking, you'll find it here: https://www.facebook.com/What-Amber-Ate-1097437023601587/

Jamberie how very exciting. Clever DH.

Yes thanks everyone, I am getting round fairly easily now. I have been over doing it a bit, I know, but I wanted to get prepared to go away. The pain killers were very useful yesterday and today. The next couple of weeks will be sitting in the car, so that will be good.

What a lovely DH Jamberie and isn't it nice to have friends who understand your excitement.

I've had a busy day, had to be at Morpeth aty 10.30 as my DD bought in some of her lovely hot buttermilk scones (I still can't make them as good as she does).  The kids had flowers and a fruit basket for Mum and flowers and a long line cardigan for me.  I'd booked the back little lounge and the tea trolley lady came around with hot drinks whilst were were getting stuck into the scones.

Today was supposed to be a terrible day, weather wise but it turned out to be a lovely day and at the football later today it was perfect.  My team played well and we had a good win.

I hope all the Mums enjoyed their day.

She certainly does Denise.
Well, yesterday's expected weather has finally arrived 1 day late - very timely so that us Mums could enjoy our day without wind and rain.

It sounds lovely Judy, and to have your team win made it even better.
We met up with the Model A and his DD and SIL at 8.30 am out near Nikkit's place in Bullsbrook. The old car left about then and we left round 9.15. We had a good trip, it was warm in the car with the sun shining through, but cold outside. We are in Geraldton tonight.
Here is our small convoy. Another Model A will join us tomorrow or the next day.

What's the ratio of old to new cars cookie?  Enjoy your trip and stay safe.

Fr those of us going up the Coast it will be 2 old and 2 new. On the inland road it is 1 bus towing an old car, plus 2 old cars towing camper trailers, plus 1 old car camping. In Fitzroy crossing at the moment there are 2 more old cars towing campers and there is 1 old car leaving Perth in the early hours tomorrow morning. One more couple leave Busselton any day towing their old car. Another couple are going to Darwin via Alice Springs in their old vehicle. There are at least 3 couples flying up and 1 other taking his modern car and caravan, like us. It will be a good representation from WA. There may be a couple of others that I'm not aware of.
