Cookie, that is so sad.   There are some nasty people about who like nothing better than to make unkind remarks and be unpleasant.  Forget them, they are not worth stressing over.

I shake my head at some of the comments and attitudes, not to mention the misinformation on social media.
Recently a friend found a stray cat at a rest area about 100km from the nearest regional centre. Like you, she posted on social media to try to find the owner, notified the locals (all 3 or so of them lol) and then continued on her way. There was general outrage on social media and she was abused at length for not taking the stray to the nearest vet, RSPCA or similar, more than 100km out of her way. Really???
Cookie you did the right thing and your conscience should be clear. As Marina and Chookie have said %#s& them. That galah is one lucky bird IMHO.

Thank you so much everyone, you are true friends. Your comments make me feel so much better. Fortunately I know we did the right thing. We had a call this morning and he is happy in his new home and lovely big aviary, he especially loved the lady of the house as she was willing to let him stay on her shoulder for ages.  Little monkey only liked to bite me!!
Thanks again.

Gayle that is horrid re the cat. How can people be so horrid. DH said they have let being kind to animals go to their head and they have gone over board.

A busy day yesterday with several friends popping in.  It was DH 80th birthday and our 53rd wedding anniversary.  We are having a family BBQ on sunday at DS house.

Today will be shopping day and cleaning the house ready for our holiday next week to Lord Howe Island.

Congratulations Margaret& DH, you certainly have a busy life.

I’m off with Probus today to visit the Virginia Nursery.  Pity it’s so wet today but our gardens need a drink and it would be hard to carry purchases back on the tiny bus.  What I am looking forward to is our meal and catching up with a young friend who runs the restaurant out there.

Congratulations to you and DH Margaret. I hope you both have a lovely day.
Judy enjoy your catch up and I hope it's not too wet for the nursery.

Thanks K Atie for your words. I saw that the facebook site now has put in that they will foster birds! They have also added places to list found birds and we did all of the things. So at least I achieved something for future people who post to that facebook site. Our house is much tidier now and less deposits around the living area and the galah is happy. We do miss him though!!!!!!

He did look an adorable little villain Cookie :)

Judy hope you enjoyed your outing.

Congrats Margaret and DH. Lord Howe Island!!! How exciting. It's meant to be amazing. Looking forward to some fab photos  ;D

For the last few days I have been doing a major sort of clothes and other teenage paraphernalia that has been discarded by the now grown up "children" of the house. There is debris and boxes all over the lounge and dining rooms  :-)). Feel like I'm sinking at the moment but I'm sure I'll be very pleased when it's done :P

You will get there Gayle and feel very good about it. I need to do a cull of my clothes. I'm a bit scared to throw out the 'fat' clothes, so I will pack them away somewhere.

A huge job when you have big kids Gayle, it’s bad enough doing it for 1 person!  Always a good feeling though and it means we can buy more clothes to fill the empty spaces.

I had a lovely time at the nursery, it teemed whilst we were there but they have a huge area of indoor plants and gifts and that’s where I spent my time until lunchtime.  I found some things for my Secret Santa gift and I bought this gorgeous boy.  He isn’t staying there, I have to buy some longer pegs to fix him to another spot in the garden.  The bus driver laid him in the aisle as is then I pulled him apart into 2 pieces to fit him in the boot.

That's lovely Judy.

I hope to do SS tomorrow. I will get out the previous years to make sure that no one gets someone they have had.

We had house guests overnight so busy doing laundry of bed linen and towels.

Very nice ornament Judy. He will look lovely in your garden.

Congratulations to you and your DH Margret. Enjoy your family BBQ on Sunday and your holiday next weeks. It sounds a lovely way to celebrate a special birthday and wedding anniversary.

Congratulations Margaret and DH and how lovely that you have a wonderful holiday to look forward to.

Your 'boy' looks really nice, Judy.

Gosh, I had forgotten about Secret Santa coming up.  Must get my thinking cap on.

Mab, congratulations to both you and DH. You must be of the same vintage as us. Enjoy your family celebration. Enjoy your trip to Lord Howe Island.
Djinni, what a job! Nice to have it sorted.
Might hang some family photos up today.

I'm attacking some filing. I usually do it monthly but kept putting it off as we were going away. I now have several months to do, both MIL's and ours.
36 here today, I need to make biscuits or cake but will do it later in the day.
