Sue - I hope you are right!
Dede - I did that too - only because I moaned too much about lifting and stacking the hay on the back of the truck! (Now I have too for my horses - although I get to help unload it and stack it in my hay shed, not load it as well - whew! Did 200 bales on the weekend and that was enough)
cookie - me too (although I don't remember having dinosaurs on the farm!) Many memories of feeding sheep towing the feed trailer - hopping out while the ute was idling along as I had dropped the rope that opened the chute. That ute was so old - I think both my brother and I learned to swear in it too - courtesy of my uncle and shifting sheep. Or was it my Dad and shifting cows and Mum's emus would "help" by scattering the cows from one end of the farm to the other. Either way, we got an education in that old ute!

Hopefully I will get a chance to drop into a paint place today to buy some paint and bits and pieces so I can paint the caravan chassis on the weekend.
There hasn't been much progress the last few weeks because I have been too busy with work and other stuff. Once the chassis is done I can put a new floor on and start repairing the frame

Had coffee out with DD this morning. Disappointed that Chai Latte here is made with syrup and everywhere we had it in Melbourne it was made properly. Also a slice of Red Velvet Cake was $7.50. Needless to say no one had any.

I get turned off too by the prices in cafes as I think I could make the whole lot for that price. My sister who doesn't cook happily pays whatever it costs, but I would prefer to go without.
I'm not really sure where the day has gone

Today I played with Bernie the Thermie a bit more, and read up a lot from the wonderful books I received.
Bernie arrived yesterday and we made the veggie stock paste.
Today was mash, and I'm afraid I offered a little too much milk. With the added cold smoked garlic the taste was lovely, just not the texture. Ah well, it's only day 2 and it's something learned.

Bernie looks very smart in his tuxedo. Is it easy to wipe down?

He does indeed. Nice bowl of freshly picked herbs there Chad. With mashed potato I don't add any milk to start with, just butter, S & P then after a few seconds on speed 3 (I prefer that speed to speed 4) I check to see if it needs a bit of moisture but generally it doesn't need much milk at all. I used to always do the same as you and end up with very sloppy mash.

l know its a bit late but l thought of you ladies on monday
as l did a cheese workshop we learnt how to make Camembert, ricotta ,masphere and quark
l was so fascinated with the whole process and was amazed how achievable it was for a home kitchen and how easy accessible it was to buy the products to make the cheese
l am waiting very patiently for the camembert to ripen

Cookie!, the decal kits are made of a sort of plasticized vinyl and don't absorb anything. So yes, very easy to wipe down.
Thanks for the mash tip judydawn. Right now I'm running straight out of the books until I find my feet with it, which I will.
Butter, and lemon curd on the weekend. I figure it's best not to be too ambitious, too soon. (Pesto may feature as well.)
Cheers.

Nazar your class sounds like great fun. Was it local?
I was at Dymocks this morning and a lady was looking at Alyce's new book. I told her it was very good. She mentioned how she was having trouble converting her own recipes. I wanted to tell her about the forum but didn't like to. Usually I blab to everyone.
