Been really busy here with 4 family birthdays in the last week and another 2 on the 29th. Renovations taking up most of my time which is why I haven't been on much recently. Hoping to be finished by the end of February and so far everything going to schedule.
Hope none of our Perth members have been affected by the bush fires here.

MF that sure is a lot of birthdays :) Why 2 on 29th? Twins?

Hope to eventually see some pics of your reno. Are you doing structural changes?

Cooler weather forecasted for today. Max 29c. What a relief

Not twins BZB but my DS and my GS both born on the same day 20 years apart. GS will be 11 and DS 31. We have lots of birthday clusters in our family with January and February having the most. Lots of family parties the norm here and never a dull moment.
Ice skating today with some GK's as they love it.
Have lots of Reno pics and will post before and after when its completed.  :)

Two more GD's arriving today so an early morning trip to the supermarket to gather supplies.  I wasn't the only one out early to beat the heat.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

We are home. The Crown refurbushment is good, but wouldnt go back in a hurry.

A little conversation at checkout, dh last year bought me a crown voucher, expired dec 2013. Of course was shoved in my wallet & forgotten. Hoped they would honour as we checked in 9th Jan, so only just out of date. No they wouldnt, I said ithink its quite rude as we have spent a few thousand this weekend, they said the conditions said it expired dec 2013.  I said good customer service would be nice if they honoured it, they said no.

So everyone use your christmas gift vouchers NOW :)

Hally that isn't nice. I tend to use my vouchers within the month as I know they won't be honoured after the cut off. Apparently there are a large percentage of vouchers never redeemed.

This morning I went and had my 6 monthly check and have passed for another 6 months. I had an early appointment so that was good.

My friends Mum sent me an email this morning saying her house was ok but the neighbours homes were gone. As far as I know our car club member's place is fine too.  It is ghastly. 44 homes gone. The fire is contained at the moment but not under control. It is much cooler this morning and no wind.
I will be thinking of everyone east of WA in the heat. Take care everyone.

OMG , so so,lucky, my friends house was the only house to survive in their road, all others destroyed. Its a miracle. He was on the news last night. Our other friends had fire coming up the back but they are all ok. Wife & cats evacuated.

They were very lucky, i have been told the area looks like a war zone.

I ordered a weighted hula hoop (see fithoop.com.au) and it arrived today, so I have been swinging. Phew! its left me a bit breathless, and they say not to do more than 5 mins when you first start as you may end up with bruising which I've probably gone a bit over (in total - wasn't able to keep it up for that long (that's tomorrow)

about 3 years ago DH bought me a beauty salon voucher for Xmas which I stuck to the fridge and forgot about, until the week and a bit before it expired. I rang up and they said they were fully booked for the week, and if they made an appointment for the following week the voucher would have expired  :-)) I tried a couple of nice phone calls, and then because the voucher was still valid  I went down there with guns blazing yelling my head off (so I'd disturb all those people who were having relaxing massages, and so they could hear what this salon was doing). The owner was a b*tch and very rude so she really riled me up. I walked out of there with my refund, and that place is surprisingly no longer there (probably was going bankrupt and that's why they didn't want to honour the voucher). I feel sorry for those people who were having a relaxing treatment but they probably found it interesting.
