Held the ladder while DH cleaned out the gutters.  Then helped DS who was digging out the last of the NZ flax plants.  We now have a huge trailer full of the flax plants ready for the tip.  I will be so glad to see them gone.

Menu planned for the week and did the food shopping, with a little washing to make it interesting.

Well, today was a special day for me for no other reason than that I had my very first full cup of coffee - an amazing feat for a 60++ year old to have survived this long without a single cup of java!!!   :o

I have always absolutely loved the aroma of freshly ground coffee but loathed the taste.  I have tried mochas, but they weren't very nice (too much coffee flavour) so I gave them up as a bad joke.  But recently I read somewhere that if you put a wee pinch of salt into the coffee it makes it taste better so, today, I met an acquaintance in a coffee shop and ordered a cappuccino and added some salt and, that was that, I drank the entire cup.  ;D  To be honest, I can't say that I loved the brew, but it was definitely palatable and so now I know that I can be more sociable when I meet up with friends in the future for a coffee  :).

That’s interesting Marina, maybe you will try it again one day. Mum accidentally poured a sachet of salt instead of sugar into her cappuccino once, I had to buy her another one!

Marina, I read recently that in the poor parts of Spain during the last war, the only coffee available was very bitter. They added salt to reduce the bitterness.
I am glad that you have discovered this. There is so much differences in coffee you might find you might also have to vary the amount of salt you add.

Congratulations Marina. That is quite an achievement. I couldn't stand coffee until I was pregnant. Since then I have enjoyed it.
Next time I come over I will take you out for a coffee. (it may be a while DD isn't attending many conferences.)

Cookie the Rams do have horns . Chookie we have not been to the Elmore field days for many years . A very quiet day as the whole week was too busy . Wool sale in Melbourne on Thursday- on to Melbourne for a few days . C Dior exhibition  , shopping out to dinner with DM . Even managed an quick impromptu visit to the dentist - this resulted in a set of top braces for DD . One eye tooth was coming down on an angle . DD was so good about it . DH and DS worked on moving an old drop loo to the shearing shead. DS took the sheep dog , who has moved into its new dog run built by DS , for a run while he rode his motor bike . DD decided to go on the ride on lawn mover for a few rounds of the garden , blades up . Have to love farm life . Think I am glad the holidays are coming to an end , will miss the relaxed days .

Yesterday we planted 3 tomato plants, some lettuce seedlings and some marigolds.  The potatoes I planted a couple of weeks ago are now up and doing well.  I need to get some more potting mix to heel them up.
