Thank you for reminding me about White Truffles. I was going to add it to my wish list but forgot about it.

My MIL gave me Donna Leon's new book "The Jewlels of Paradise" for Christmas. There are no policemen in sight in this book - it is about a young venetian musicologist hired to find the hidden treasure of an almost forgotten Baroque composer. I really enjoyed this book, and I'm sure my MIL will enjoy reading it too

Spent a delicious afternoon on the sofa finishing "The Cleaner of Chartres" by Sally Vickers. Very light and engaging - a perfect holiday read.

I just finished
The Casual Vacancy
. I really enjoyed it. I found JK Rowling's character development to be superb. I could imagine small town politics being just like the book.
I am about to start the new Patricia Cornwell book,
The Bone Bed
.

I've just started reading Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore. I love her writing, so sophisticated yet easy to follow

Just trying to finish my Dec issue of Vanity Fair so I can start Jan issue. I have to read it in daylight only as the print is so small.
I was reading a story about Julian Fellows the author and actor who writes Downton Abbey so decided to download his book Past Imperfect to add to the 40 other books waiting to be read on my Kindle!
Can't help myself.
