I'm almost finished reading "The Light Between Oceans" by M. L. Stedman .

Are you enjoying it?

Gert

Yes Gert I am enjoying it.

I don't seem to get much time to read lately but this book was given to my 14 year old GD via a book club at school and she didn't want to read it so gave it to her mum, who gave it to my DH who gave it to me.  When I have finished it I will give it back to GD and tell her to read it.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

Because I am having a hard day today, a friend sent me a copy of a page out of his book called “Letters of Note” to cheer me up – I can’t re-print the copy of the page I received, it is just a wee bit naughty, but if the rest of the book is as much fun as this one page is nothing was going to stop me from buying it (as a gift to me).  I somehow think it would be better as a hard-cover than kindle so went to the Book Depository only to discover that the author (Shaun Usher) has compiled a second book of much the same name so I promptly ordered both and am now looking forward to receiving them ... soon, I hope.

Great idea Michele, one you can give back and not have to give away down the track.

I'm loving the library at the moment - reserving book recommendations online and then collecting when they have got them in.  Great way to "shop."  ;D  My sister gave me a booklovers calendar for my birthday - a different book review/description each day, so any that appeal get added to my library saved list too.  Should keep me going for quite a lot longer than a year though!

Our library also has a pretty good e-book borrowing service, although often have to wait a while.

Libraries have certainly changed a lot over the years. Mine has a chat morning with treats. Next week is a local author coming for a chat.  My Island Homicide  buy Catherine Titasey. Had to download and read it before I meet her.

Also just downloaded the lasted JK Rowling writing as Robert Galbraith. The Silkworm.

The. Galbraith? If so. I think I paid $16 something on Amazon . Kindle is not cheap these days. Bloody politicians.

It was inevitable, I guess, but very frustrating, especially when you have to battle through the non-existent proofing and checking in many of them.  Sometimes I get so angry because there are so many errors it totally destroys the flow and enjoyment of reading the books.

DD checks Amazon, Kobo and wherever before we buy. K Mart was the best price we could find. I'm looking forward to reading it.
