Those upside down photos are certainly interesting.  Can't help you on the technical side, unfortunately. 

The whole trip looks and sounds wonderful.  I am very envious.  It looks like you have been really lucky with the weather as well and that makes everything so much more enjoyable and fun.  Hope the rest of your holiday goes smoothly.  How much longe have you got over there?

We have been really lucky with the weathe Cuilidh.
Sometimes cloudy then suddenly crystal clear blue skies
High cloud here at the moment and no sky visible.
We go home on Sunday. Has done mum the world of good 
She loves it here. It reminds her of home, particularly the west coast. I love the west coast of Scotland.

Overcast here today.  Have never been to Scotland but my ancestors came from there.   Maybe oneday.

Yes, NZ is spectacular, wish we could live there again but I think it has changed too much from my younger days and I would find it very strange now.

Talking of west coast Scotland - ever been over the Applecross Road?  I took one look at it and decided not to bother.  Love the run to Ullapool, though.

West coast NZ is very rugged and beautiful.

Are you still getting after shocks? DH did in Christchurch when he was there in August.

No haven't done that one Cuilidh but yes the road to Ullapool is stunning
I miss Scotland very much but quality of life in Oz is undoubtedly better.
As is the weather which is a big lifestyle factor.
NZ gives us our Scottish fix.

Hamner is lovely Michele we have been there a few times.
We are originally from Scotland so NZ gives us the scenery but better weather than Scotland and not so far to travel.
Didn't know your DH s a kiwi. It is a very beautiful country.
No aftershocks here in Queenstown but haven't heard about  any recent ones  in Christchurch either.
It's so scary what happened in Christchurch.
Does your DH have family there?

You would really enjoy the scenery in Scotland Marie but it doesn't have a great climate. If you are lucky to get dry days with a bit of sunshine then it's spectacular in the country side but that isn't guaranteed. That's why we come here to NZ for the lake, snow and mountain fix but plenty of blue skies and sunshine. So glad you are enjoying the photos. It's always nice to see different places. I love the forum trips-and really enjoying Trudy's trip in India at the moment. Loved Margaret River retreat, Hally in Hawaii, emerald Sue across the nullabor, cookies trip. Forgive me if I have forgotten anyone's recent trip but have loved them all

Yes MF. He has his 2 brothers & their families and his dad and several cousins.

We were in Christchurch for the 1st earthquake where no one lost their lives apart from a heart attack victim. We were staying in Riccarton.

DH also has a Scottish background - hence the mc mich. DH is going to Auckland next week for a funeral. His SIL passed away, moved back up north when her health deteriorated. Very sad, although expected, she was only 61 yrs old.
