MF if you have a look at their Facebook page they have a lot of photos of what they have cooked. They have also just released a gyros attachment.

Hally we've used it about once a week at the moment, sometimes just cooking one thing and other days cooking our meal and then also cooking up some marinated meat to use for sandwiches/wraps later in the week. It retains heat so well after heating up very high it always seem a shame to waste it.
We only use charcoal and just a single firelighter to get it burning when we first light it, I've never been a big fan of heat beads and always found them quite expensive. We purchased a 20kg bag of charcoal at the local charcoal chicken shop which was $25 and we use around 2 - 3kgs each time depending on how hot we want the tandoor to get and how long we are going to be cooking for.

I thought heatbeads would be expensive.
I too woud want to cook up as much as possibe while it was on as not to waste the charcoal.
Do you need to clean it out or just add more chrcoal on top.
Will you use it much in the winter?

I love the thought of what you can cook in it.

Hally, we just sweep out the left over coals and ash before using the next time. The outside around te top has got a bit tarnished but we haven't bothered cleaning it as it doesn't affect the cooking or look too bad and the rds we just clean as soon as we ae used them. The inside is basically self cleaning because of the high temperatures used to cook pizzas, naan and tikka meat.

In the book Consider the Fork there is a chapter devoted to how heat is used in certain cooking things and the Tandoor is included. I was amazed at how many things it could be used for and why it is so efficient at what it does. Amazing and ancient cooking Thingy.
I don't think I would want one here as it would generate too much heat on my patio . The BBG is heat enough on summer days. But having said that, it sure is a neat cooking pot!

I'm very tempted to get one as well. The food looks wonderful and it's not that costly when you think about it.

We had an Nina dinner last night. Butter chicken, tandoori chicken and fantastic naan bread. We also tried some tandoori mushrooms but we cooked them for way too long and they fell of the skewer into the coals.
