Many of you are aware I am coming to Australia in August to attend the Forum Fest 2013 Fun.
To mark this auspicious occasion there will be a competition to celebrate my visit to your wonderful country. The prize will be a new copy of the UK Thermomix book called "I Love Chocolate,I Love Thermomix" donated by me.
The competition is only open to Australian resident forum members (including Tasmania) to say "Thank you" for welcoming me to your country.
No comments are to be made on this thread, they will be deleted if postings do not follow the guidelines.
There are certain rules for this competition, please read them carefully and then post an entry.
1) Limit of 1 entry per person.
2) Only members with a minimum of 30 postings as of 1/7/13 are eligible to enter and should be a resident of Australia or Tasmania.
3) To post an entry, please tell the forum your favourite dessert recipe and why? Then give yourself a number.(Funny stories greatly appreciated
)
eg 'My favourite dessert is Chocolate Mousse because it's the only thing I can make better than my mother-in-law!' I am number 12.
4) The competition closes on the 15th July 2013 and the winners will be drawn by MM as soon as possible thereafter.
5) The winner must cook a recipe from the book and review it.
I will be bringing the book in my luggage and will post it to the winner ASAP when I reach Australian shores.
I hope you have fun with this.
xx CC.

Oh what the heck, I will be first.
My favourite dessert would have to be Golden Syrup Dumplings. It is something my Mum made often, especially when she was rushed for time. I have also made them frequently when we have unexpected guests as they can be made from ingredients you always have. So quick and easy.
Sorry no funny story.

My favorite dessert is apple crumble, well actually my oldest sons, he expects it for his birthday dinner ever year, I have been making this for him since he was very young and he is in his 30's now.

My favourite dessert is Pavlova. I've been making it for many, many years now.
I first started making it as a newly wed and couldn't cook but as it was my husbands favourite I wanted to perfect it. For almost a year I made it from the "pavlova egg"
and thought I was a domestic goddess.
Eventually I started cooking it from scratch with some very hit and miss efforts. It still makes me smile to remember DH trying to eat a piece even when it was less than edible.

My favourite dessert would be the Swedish Ice Cream Cheese Cake. This dessert is a great standby to have in the freezer for those unexpected times. This dessert is so easy even I can't mess it up, so far.

My favourite dessert is without a doubt the simple Butter Cake. Just a few ordinary ingredients, and yet it results in magic. From the tantalising aroma to that satisfying first bite.
All my boys share my love for it, especially my littlest man Jeremy. It was such a pleasure to see the wonder in his eyes when he took the first look at his 4th birthday cake - he was crazy over Thomas the Tank Engine then! All the birthday cakes after that were Butter Cakes

My favourite dessert would be a butterscotch self saucing pudding. Crisp and crunchy on top, light and fluffy in the middle and gooey goodness underneath. Yummmm (might tackle it tonight).
I think this is a throw back to the dinners with my nanna as a child. More memorable than salmon squished on toast with tin beetroot but not quite as memorable as the day she forgot the lemonade in the freezer. It defrosted under the clothesline and shot up out of the bottle like a volcano.

My favourite dessert is sticky date pudding. DH and I would often share one when out for dinner in the early dating years. He would always joke after that he has a sticky date!
I have heard the joke many times over many years....and I still giggle with him
