INAID, there used to be a thread a few years ago which was for meal planning, it was great to see what others were planning for the week. Maybe one of the moderators will be able to find it.

I have done so from time to time but I don't bother anymore as I never know what I'm doing from one day to the next.  I usually have a few recipes earmarked at a time and I try and work my way through them but then something else will pop up that looks really inviting so the other recipes get pushed aside for the time being.  If I've gone as far as getting the ingredients in, then they do get made within the week otherwise they sometimes go back on the pile of 'to do' recipes which needs a ladder to access. Then sometimes I just want to use up what I have in the freezer, especially when well laid plans get in the way and I want something quick.

I am the same Robyn. I like to plan at least four meals a week. I've only got time to go shopping once a week. So if it's not on the plan, it doesn't get made.

I too have a full freezer Judy. What is in there, I don't know! I need to clean it out again. I know there is a duck in there.

OK, to menu plan I have an a5 diary (day to a page) that everything that needs to be done is written on that day, times included if applicable (such as school drop off/pick up, appointments etc)
At the bottom of every page I have ruled a section off on every page, and written lunch - school, lunch - work, lunch - home and dinner (a few lines apart.) then every Monday I sit down and work out from what I know is in my fridge/freezer and pantry
what we need to use and then fill the spaces in for the whole week. Makes life so much easier.

(And yes, if anyone is wondering....every Monday has 'menu plan for week'  written in the job part..... :) )

Dinners this week are:
M- slowcooked beef, mash, steamed veg, zucchini muffins, & gravy
T-shepherd's pie (new EDC)
W-Chicken (whole) with roast potato and kumaras, steamed corn, peas & beans, carrot and zucchini ribbons steamed & gravy.
T- Pork roast with roast potatoes, pumpkin, crackilng, zucchini muffins, corn and carrots steamed and gravy
F - hamburgers and homemade wedges.

Lunches - Home. are:
M- chicken and salad
T-Egg quiche and salad
W-fish fillets, salad and buns
T- scrambled egg on toast
F- homemade party pies & sausage rolls with sauce.

Will put lunch ideas in the other thread that Judy mentioned above......

INAID I actually created a meal plan document that suited us many years ago. I can send it to you if you wish.

I plan only for main meals as DD takes salad, fruit and yoghurt to work everyday and DH has left overs or a sandwich. I have salad each day.
Breakfast is always the same for each of us.
I plan from shopping day to shopping day. (Wednesday). I list the meal, where the recipe is and what I need to buy. I also have a space at the bottom to list meat/meals that are in the freezer, ideas for next week and baking ideas. There is also a spot to check off what the protein is in each meal. Eg chicken, red meat, fish or other.

From last Wednesday it has been pasta with bacon, pesto and roasted pumpkin.
Thursday.  Veal schnitzels with air fryer veggies and salsa verde.
Friday.  A quiche, this week was chicken, bacon and onion.
Saturday.  Always pizza.
Sunday. Char Koay Teow. I had to change this as I was unable to get the noodles, the shop had run out. We had home made burgers and French fries in the AF.
Monday. Skirt steak, split, then rolled round a filling of prosciutto, mustard, dill pickle and carrot. Baked for a couple of hours.
Tuesday. Tenina's family stew from KIS.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.
