Gert, I think this is a new recipe and you should give it a name.  Something like Splutter Sauce comes to mind .

The Kitchen Wizardry of Gert the Great! What a hoot!  :D

I have Chookie's Sourdough rising in a lidded tin. Started it yesterday morning, so it should be delicious.

Also made isi's Pasta Bake last night for tea with left over roast chicken, broccoli, corn and a tin of mushrooms. It was delicious!
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Gert, that made me laugh hard - you are my kind of cook!
So far for the challenge I've made one of Chookie's bread recipes and one of her mains. Tonight it's Isi's turn for
 bread and main

I have made Chookies spicy cauliflower fritters.  I will reheat in the AF and serve with soup for dinner(although DH has already taste tested and approved)

They look good! I haven't made those before, must try them.

My sourdough using Chookie's recipe worked out really well. I left it to prove in the tin for almost 20 hours with the lid on. The starter is one from Yoke Mardawi's book using rye flour.

I've been trying to embed a photo from a Picasa web album, but it's just not playing nice. I'll keep working out how to do it and in the meantime will just add a link.

Oh Gert, thank you. ROFLMAO.

You reminded with the anchovies that I bought some local marinaded sardines today. Delicious.

I made isi's Taiwan bread this afternoon - another loaf that needs a long rise and is quite sweet, although the crumb is quite different to Chookie's  milk and honey bread. It is a light fluffy loaf, and I had to cut it whilst it was still a little warm and wolfed it down spread with passionfruit curd.

I was intrigued by Isi's recipe for chicken strips in a coffee sauce. http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2843.0
I asked my family to pick the "secret" ingredient, and nobody was able to. The coffee flavour was undetectable- it was a simple creamy sauce for the chicken. I added veggies to the sauce and served it with penne and Parmesan cheese. It made quite a lot and there is a little left over despite both kids going back for seconds.
