I am not loving that I cannot turbo my potatoes after cooking. I like chunky mash.

Why can't you turbo them?

You can't turbo in the TM5 if the temperature in the bowl is above 60 degrees (I've been reading the manual online whilst bored).
It's a safety thing, the turbo function is deactivated because of the heat.

I've heard from my consultant and my TM5 is going to be delivered tomorrow night  :D

I am also not loving that it is more difficult to separate the blade from the jug as the thumb "spot" is smaller. Nearly broke a nail!!

Uni said it . I never had a problem with the TM31 turboing with mash at high temp.

But you can turn the speed up to 9/10 but it does not go to that speed as quickly as the 31 so my mash was sort of half chunky and half puree.

Could you try just mixing at speed 4 or 5, Gert? That might leave it chunky.  ???

If you are right handed:

hold jug in your left hand, flip abit, rest right hand wrist on the base just below the handle and insert 4 fingers in the groove and twist off the mixing bowl base. Hope that helps  :-*

I ordered mine on the 30th September and it's coming tomorrow night, so just over a month.

I can't believe you still haven't got yours Wonder.  That's so disappointing for you.  Perhaps you need to make a phone call advising them of your disappointment.  I still don't see how it being lost in the post is your problem, they should just arrange a new one and get it to you quickly.

You want me to stick these expensive nails up the bum of the bowl and twist? Get real ;D ;D. Might use a multigrip I keep in my kitchen drawer for opening recalcitrant  wine bottles!

Anyway I think it will get easier with use.
