they did the tweak, but they replaced the arms and the button at the back, plus something with the heat thingumy, and also got my weight corrected as it was flickering between 0-5g. I just put my machine in the car and rocked up at the service dept unannounced and they were very efficient in getting it back to me without any dramas. No complaints from me so I'm giving them the thumbs up.

Why would a brand new $2000 machine need all that service in the first place?

I am so glad I have decided NOT to upgrade and get a TM 5!
Too many issues with too many machines.
With my TM31 and new blades mine feels new and works perfectly.
I expect my TM31 to keep working for many years to come.

Bedlam, I don't expect a good will getsure as I know that comes from the consultant and not head office and I don't think she is at fault in any of this.

I just made ricotta  http://www.superkitchenmachine.com/2011/12574/make-ricotta-thermomix-recipe.html  in the 5 and now have 1 litre of whey. Of course I added 50 gms of vinegar to make the curds so it is in the whey but you cannot taste it. I am wondering if I should just use it as I  would regular whey?

Anyone done this?

I ain't wasting it uni so have devided it and will freeze 500 gms and use the other for something.  I mean it has cream in it so pretty rich.

While you are  here Uni. What do you think.........

Make some pasta dough in the TMX then roll it out with a rolling pin instead of using the pasta maker which is a pain in the assand needs three hands. Could I just roll, the dough out thin and make rag pasta? Would that work ok?

Gert, I have used the whey in bread.  Seems ok.
Won't bother to make yoghurt in 5 again.  No better than my usual method and it doesn't tie up the machine for the day.

As I thought. On FB I see some very silly girls staying up late to make sure the chime does not go off at three am. Makes me laugh Should be in inbuilt delay start or just buy a timer to plug in the wall I say.  For goodness sake use your common sense .

Oh BTW. My consultant had a TM5 that had a green seal inside her lid. Mine does not. Anyone else have a green seal in the lid? She particularly mentioned it as the new be all. I also see that some TM5 s do not have the green seal on the blades. There seems to be some inconsistency  in the hardware of these new machines. Mine has a green seal. Anyone else?
