Summer Porridge in a Jar

I have just made a version of Summer porridge in a jar.
I am having my knee replaced next month and am testing some make ahead recipes.
The porridge is very nice.
This is what I did:
Place one apple, quartered
One cup rolled oats
Four pitted prunes and
Two teaspoons chia seeds.
Speed 5 for 4 seconds
Place into four smallish jars and just cover with what ever milk you like put lids on.
These keep for several days in the fridge and are really nice.
I guess you could add whatever you wanted.

Good luck with your knee, we have DH's mother staying with us after having hers done the week before christmas her recovery has been amazing.

Thanks Wonder glad your MIL is recovering well.
I hope that is how it is for me.
This is my first posted "recipe" the porridge in a jar is delicious and flexible.

This sounds so easy. I have read that you can add yoghurt instead of milk or with. Also berries.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

I think you can add all srts of things to your taste.
The milk determines the texture. I would probably mix milk and yogurt rather than just yogurt.
A spoonful of home made jam or stewed fruit on top is really yummy also!
I am hoping to have some prepared for after surgery. They are easy and healthy for my son to make.
They also look nice and would be good if guests were staying as they are just in the fridge waiting in the morning.

I've just made a batch - had just enough oats and prunes left to do the full quantity.

The other day DD wanted a snack so she mixed yoghurt with Graneusli and topped it with strawberries.

Just had my summer porridge for breakfast, I didn't read the recipe properly and didn't have prunes so I put in dates, very nice and convenient I added extra stewed nectarines and mango this morning.  Thanks BB

I didn't add anything else to mine this morning so it probably needed a bit of sweetener but I did eat it without any and the taste grew on me.  I do like fast breakfasts and this one couldn't be any quicker. As AB did, adding some stewed fruit would be the way to go.
