Chookie can I cook this in a ordinary lined cake tin?If so what size? I have our DD and SIL staying on Friday and looks ideal for dessert for supper.

My lemons are terrible in summer but I bought some limes for something else. Think I will be trying this recipe instead. Just looks to good to pass up. Thanks Chookie

CC, I think a pie plate is best for this as the center is soft like lemon butter,

This cake is our favorite winter dessert, warm with cream or ice-cream - or both! Those who love a strong lemony flavor will enjoy this one so I thought I would bump it so it doesn't get overlooked. Thanks for a great recipe.

Lainie, glad you liked it. I have just made this for my sister, for her 70th. Birthday. We ate it with whipped cream , with Lemon Butter folded through.

We love this one too. I made it today actually, but had to make the filling twice. The first time I forgot to "zap it" before cooking it. At least I now know that you can poach an egg (almost perfectly intact) if you cook it in lemon syrup.

What size is the pie plate that you use for this Chookie? I need to buy a smaller pie plate as mine is really too large for this.

Hi Chelsea, the dish I use is 22cm across. This includes the rim/lip. It is not quite big enough, but is the best I have. It has a scoop in it and this is good for when you pour in the lemon butter mix. I will try and post a photo, later.
