Mmmmm I think we should all go to chookies for lunch, there is always something tasty on the menu ;D

Today I made a large pot of soup and a batch of Walnut Refrigerator Biscuits.
More than welcome Mab.
If I have time,  I am going to try new recipe for pasta made with Rye flour, Sour Dough and herbs.  Sounds interesting.  Will post if OK.

I have the hotmixpro gastro sitting on my bench for the weekend so my thermomix is not doing any cooking but I have made custard, ice cream custard, quarter cake and two batches of bread dough.  I'm still flicking through recipe books deciding what else to play with......creme caramel and fudge are definately on the menu and a potato and leek soup....the garlic confit is another definate.  I'm trying to decide if I will be distressed when I have to give it back on Monday....although there has been slight weakening of resistance to me having one of my own (as a test/demo permanently).  His lordship is considering the matter :P.

Stacelee I did a lot of research , had  a home demo and was suitably impressed. I would really have liked it but could not justify the cost. I feel  it does not have the  back up needed for home cooks and is really a cheffy machine. However, if they are considering selling it in store then it is something I would definitely look at again but then you are the go to bunny  having sold it.

These are freezer butter biscuits. They are made with ground up lemon tea and lemon oil.  Lovely.  Best way ever to lemon perfume the kitchen.

I ended up making quite a lot over the weekend in the HMP including vanilla fudge, creme caramel, date & walnut loaf, tapenade, bread, quarter cake.  I'm impressed with the machine although I think that their documentation leaves a great deal to be desired.  The "recipes" that came with it are something that only a chef would understand...and even that I'm not sure about.  I'm going to check with one of our salespeople who was a chef for many years as to what he thinks about it.  I think it would be a good machine to sell into small cafes but I don't know if they would necessarily have the knowledge to translate the recipes into a practical dish.

I managed to buy garlic and roma tomatoes at a good price yesterday as well as a heap of bananas so I'm planning on making the garlic confit, umani paste and banana cake today.  The HMP is going back to work today for the rep to collect so TOM will be doing the work :).  For the first week in a while I don't have any rosella jam to make so tonight I will be able to make something different...I think maybe corn relish.  We will probably be picking the last of the rosellas at the community garden next week (I have been threatening to take roundup to them...I've been making jam since before Christmas) and mine are about to be turned into wild hibiscus to be put into champagne etc....so I can finally pull out my books to start making some chutneys instead.

MF,  not on forum yet.  Will post as was nice with Maple Syrup and fruit.  Should have yoghurt also,  but it froze in the fridge with the eggs.

The slice looks lovely Chookie as do the biscuits. How do you manage to consume all this food please? Do the Grand children help? I wish people round here would eat more. :-\ :-\
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

The biscuits and slice look wonderful Chookie. I look forward to making the slice when the recipe is posted.

Yum MF, I love eggplant parmigiana.

Today I made lentil and vegie soup, it only just fit in the TMX and I think I will need to add more stock when heating as it is very thick.

Cookie,  like Judy I cook 1/2 recipes. But even then I get caught. When  I made the baked oat slice,  1/2 recipe and it still made 24 small slices.  Tomorrow we are out to friends for lunch and I will take the lemon biscuits.  The GC are not very useful as they like to cook something when they come.  Only add to the problem.
Michele ,  I will post basic instructions for the slice.   I managed to use the recipe as a guide only for quantities.  Will post when I have an hour to spare as this is how long it takes me to type a recipe and attach photos.  I put the same recipe on my Blog and on the Forum.

Thankyou Cookie. I usually halve recipes too. Luckily between all the children I can usually send food to them. DH was dropping off sweet and sour chicken we made last night to his middle daughter today on the way to work and we still have 2 meals worth for the freezer.
I think DH and I forget we are not cooking for a large family on a daily basis anymore.
