Wow Kimmy. What an impressive effort - your bread rolls look so uniform it's as if they came from a bakery. My baking always turns out 'organically' looking, but still taste okay though.

Wowee!! Kimmyh your cooking looks amazing; Chookie I love the look of your pear pie. I keep forgetting to look at that Simply Wholefood site Katj; I know it has some very nice stuff.

I haven't started today as had a friend stay overnight and we did a bit of talking this morning but did cook a beautiful roasted pumpkin soup for dinner last night and had it with rolls. Did I say rolls; they were not just any rolls. Thank you so much Cookie1 for your Ciabiatta Rolls wi. th sourdough. At first I didn't think they were going to rise enough and then they really popped in the oven and were so good that we each had two with our soup. They go to number 1 on my list of rolls to make; yummy and thanks again

I'm pleased that you liked them Troupie.  They are nice. It's hard to keep the air in them.
Kimmy you have been very busy and the food looks lovely.  Chookie the pear pie looks so cute with the tops poking out.
No cooking here now as I hope to eat the fruits of the last few weeks cooking. Although it probably won't be long until we start rice puddings for everyone.

CP, what do you think of that book?
Making lamb shank and barley vegetable soup.Fish and chips and Chinese stir fried Asian greens for dinner. Pear cake that was a flop served with lots of TMX custard, and stewed Quinces from Farmers Market.
Also trying a new recipe for Sour Dough.

Good question chookie. I'm interested to hear some opinions as I was disappointed with her first book.

Its beautifully presented, and for mothers of babies and young children its very informative. The recipes look great to me - I love everyday family style dishes. All look delicious to me, and I can see many that I will be cooking.  I didn't get her first book as I don't have little ones around, but as the title goes, there is a range of recipes here for everyone that will appeal.

Thanks CP.  why I asked is that yesterday I made a Broard Bean dip from this book. I had to fiddle with the recipe to get it to a good consistency.  End result very nice.
Today I made Alaskan Sour Dough Hot Cakes, Lemon and Coconut.  A very generous friend on the Forum kindly sent me a most interesting Alaskan Sour Dough Book. It tells the history and importance of SD to the development of Alaska. It also contains some recipes. I have adapted this one. Not TMX but very nice and 1 cup of SD makes 12. They are like crumpets but thinner. Will post recipe.
