The SD wanted to be used.
I made some Hot Cross Buns from Chookie's blog today. They taste wonderful. DD made some biscuits she called Garbage Biscuits. It was a basic plain biscuit mix and she added in bits of Choc chips, peanut butter chips, peanuts and I hate to think what else. They taste very nice.

Margaret, the hot weather is working wonders with your SD.  That is a seriously good loaf.
I have split my Cherokee SD starter and have brought some to Invermay. Will see how it feel about its new home.
I am not sure about the new oven so may make a small batch of yeast bread rolls to try it out first.
Cookie, glad you liked the Hot X Bun recipe.  I must get going and make some.

I cooked my Hot Cross Buns a little too much. However they still taste lovely. I made 24 smaller ones. My scales died just before I started splitting the dough, hence they are various sizes. I reduce the spices as the mob aren't fond of them. For home ones I don't glaze or put the crosses on. Sheer laziness.

Crosses don't add anything to the taste of the buns cookie so for home use, it isn't necessary.  I don't know if I'll bother this year as I usually eat one then the others stay in the freezer so long I end up throwing them out.

The hot cross buns look good Cookie.

I made some Chicken, Bacon & Cheese Sausage Rolls and Chocolate Icecream today.  It's all in the freezer now for when the family come at the weekend.

I made Chookie's Rum and Raisin Banana Cake. We love it and DH found a couple of squishy bananas.

I want to make more hot cross buns, but it's so hot I don't want to use the oven. I've been making bread in my bread maker the last couple of days, so we can wake up to it. It is nice, but a little cakey in texture. I want to make a standard loaf, but that involves the oven, so not right now. I'm thinking of making Skinnymixer's Butter Chicken tonight. I must say in the heat it is great to have the Thermomix to cook without having to stand over a stove or use the oven.

It's only a pie. But I made the filling yesterday and did Tenina's Puff pastry with vodka for the top of it today.
I'm going to see John Cleese and Eric Idle tonight so I probably won't post it until tomorrow as we are having it for part of dinner.
