I made a loaf of bread to take away with us. My last 2 loaves have been ok but didn't rise as usual. I think it is the yeast as I used new yeast both those times. I will add a little more until I've used it all. It has been in the freezer but doesn't seem to be the best.

Mab, sounds like winter.
Cookie, is it fresh yeast or dry?

Cookie, I don't keep my dry yeast in the fridge  or freezer, but do make sure it is firmly sealed and that no air can get in. I only use the packets that come with the Laucke flour.

Thanks Chookie. The yeast I added to my supply were Lauke yeast. I remember that I used some buttermilk that was in the fridge, so that may have been it.
I'll try again when we get home.

I made the Sticky Date Pud from the chip. Made double the sauce.
Made Fish cakes for Ral for Valentine's Day. GD also loved them. She normally picks at her food nut she ate 4.
Also made Falafel from a packet mix. Just ok.

I made a sandwich for our lunch and I will take the steak out of it's wrapping and make a tossed salad.

Cleaned out freezer and found some cooked grains so will make a wholemeal and grain loaf.
Yesterday I made a chicken thigh 'stew'. It was soupy and contained fennel, zucchini and carrot. Very nice. Leftovers for dinner tonight.

I made six casseroles yesterday and was exhausted last night.  I have come to the conclusion that I am not as young as I once was. :) :)

This morning I made Snappy's Cinnamon Tea Cake for visitors.

Mab, not surprised you are exhausted after that big cook up.
Today made 8 jars of Apple jelly and then cauliflower rice to go with stew.
Also cooked some strawberries that looked a bit sad to stir through my Bircher Museli with a Passionfruit for breakfast.

The Apple Jelly looks so clear and beautiful Chookie.
Margaret, the other day at the doctors I said "only people get that!"  He just looked at me. He is the same age as me too.
