That sounds like a brilliant picnic.
I made some biscuits earlier today and only skimmed the recipe quickly. They have to sit in the fridge for the butter and chocolate to firm up so that you can roll them into balls. They will have to be done tomorrow.

Your visitors are in for a treat with the picnic goodies Chookie.

I literally haven't cooked for over two weeks now ... been working 7 days, 10 - 12 hours each day so no time for cooking, just living off takeaways. I will get next weekend off so will have to cook like crazy to refill the freezer ... I am thinking of all the bigger, quick and easy meals ... non fried fried rice, QJ's Satay Chicken (tofu for us) with veges; maybe a big pot of stew ... that should take care of filling things up for a while!

Marina you must be feeling exhausted. Take care of yourself.

I have been doing a bit of baking lately but forgetting to put up photos. This is a rye loaf I made the other day.

When DD and I had coffee last week the cafe was offering Beetroot and Lentil salad as a lunch dish. We decided to buy the ingredients and create out own. It was very nice.

Cookie, that loaf and salad both look great.
Marina, working long hours leaves no time or energy to cook. Takeaways get boring also. Look after yourself and cook.
Everyone enjoyed the picnic sandwiches. DD took the leftovers for GC dinner.
Cookie, I often make up a biscuit mixture, and bake the following day.
I had to use up some SD starter . Gave this loaf to visitors.

It hit the top of pot and went flat. They said it tasted great.

Great cooking girls . Baked another batch of pear yogurt muffins , there is one left! DD and DS gobbled them up taking 3 each to Boarding house . I had to remove the fourth ones as DH had not eaten one .

Don't worry about it Margaret, I think it happens to all of us sooner or later. I can remember a time where I battled to put a meal on the table in the evening.

Mab, know how you feel. Do you think it is the result of your op? Weather ? Perhaps a couple of days at the Lakes might help?
Didn’t feel like cooking but friend dropped off a box of Bradley Apples. They are too special to waste so I have bottled 20 small jars. I have kept the cores and skins to make Apple jelly.

Same here Margaret, too much to do to bother with cooking and whilst the freezer is still full I’m not likely to run out any time soon. To those who are cooking, love seeing your photos girls.

Cooked the skin and cores from the apples and now have a base for jelly and jams. Too hot to make either. Will pop it into fridge for next week.
Made Falafel mixture. Recipe posted.
Tip. When I cook bread i deliberately add more seeds to top. I collect theses when they fall off. I add them to salads.
