Having a bit of a freezer clean out this week so not much going on in this place today.  Cooked rice to go with the Thai Fusion Chicken Pataya leftovers today and the mince meat curry tomorrow night, made Intrepidtriers sago pudding and have just done the first stage of the Sour Dough Oat Bread which gets finished off tomorrow. Chookie, I hope it is OK to use all white bread flour, didn't have any wholemeal.

The quince jam is done and tastes and looks lovely. I only used half the weight of the liquid and quinces of sugar and it seems to have been just about right. Thank you Thermomixer. :-*

Home alone tonight so decided to cook. Well put Thermie on to cook anyway. I've got a TMX demo tomorrow and I thought I would have a display of what you can make at home. Tonight I have made up Berry Cordial, mayonnaise, coffee syrup, chocolate topping, lemon butter, yogurt, vegie stock and I already had made rosella jam and tomato sauce - do you think they'll be impressed?? :-)

Wow Nay nay - that is impressive.  :-* :-* :-*

I have made Thermomixer's Yummy Crumpets, a Lasagna, Maddy's Bacon & Cheese Rolls, & a German Apple Cake. I would like to made some Chilli con Carne, some TMX stock, some Artisan no Knead bread later and was going to make the Caramel Apple Pudding but might make that tomorrow night.

Glad you liked the crumpets - sounds like you are on fire with all those goodies.  :-* :-* :-*

Well done Kimberley, how nice to have a freezer empty enough to fit all that in :o :o :o

Today I have made a Chicken Noodle Soup, terstoo's Chocolate Macadamia Spread and converted a recipe for Chicken, Spinach & Feta filo parcels.  I made them for the freezer though as I have food I need to get rid of in the fridge. I'll see how they cook up and post the recipe later if I think they are worth it.

True JD - good to see you are still converting - good work  :-* :-* :-* :-*

Cookie, where did you manage to find quinces??!! Sorry a couple of days behind here...

have been busy as well as cooking up a storm. DS1 wrote his car off on Thursday morning so have had a bit of running around to do. Thank goodness he is ok, just a little sore  :)

Today I have made BBQ sauce, Burnt butter biscuits, chocolate weetbix slice, yoghurt and will put on veg to steam shortly to go with dinner in the slow cooker  :D

Kathryn, sorry to hear about DS1's mishap. Glad he wasn't seriously hurt.

Sounds like you've been having fun in the kitchen too.

Last night I made my first batch of butter in the TMX and was really chuffed at how easy it was.

Tonight I got to make the Caramel Apple Pudding, yet another Chocolate Fudge Cake (peppermint flavoured this time - using Creme de Menthe), some mashed potato for the Shepherd's Pie we had for tea. Think I'll need to take out shares in CSR if I keep making the CFC. It just doesn't last long in this household.

Kathryn I'm so very glad your son is ok.  VHJ I still worry about DD driving (and she's quite a good driver) after 12 years. I must admit not as much as I used to though.

Kathryn I managed to buy the quinces in Woolies of all places. I was pleasantly surprised.

Faffa,  what a worry.  Glad he is OK.   The car isn't important.   We are still sorting out,  throwing out and and putting back stuff after the painters.  And yes they did come back for morning tea the next day. ;D  When I can't stand the cleaning any more I rush into the kitchen and press a few buttons on the TMX.  It has produced Tuna dip from EDC book,  soup with sweet potato and red lentils, CJ's custard biscuits ( DH 's favs.). Mashed potatoes, to go with the corned beef and silver beet from the garden.  I made a sauce to go with the corned beef,  equal parts light sour cream, grated horseradish, and hot mustard. Very nice.  Can't find my notes for the Sussex Pond Pud,  but they will turn up ;D.  I also converted a recipe of Dan Lepard's coconut strawberry creams, ( biscuits).  These were easy and delicious and I will post the recipe when I get a moment.
JD,  I often make the Oat Sour Dough bread with white flour,  or anything I have on hand.  I hope it turns out for you.
Went to the Gisborne TMX cooking class on Sunday.   It was good and I picked up a few points,  the most interesting one being that the TMX mayo in the EDC book will keep for ages.   I was asked to make the Torta Caprese from the EDC book for the cooking class,  so I read all the reviews on the Forum.  These were very interesting but I decided that in the end to just follow the recipe as stated.  It was perfect,  and although I hadn't made it before i will certainly make it again.

Glad the Torta Caprese turned out for you Chookie.

Today I have only made porridge and the sour dough oat bread.  It was a completely different texture to normal sour dough bread Chookie and I didn't like it at first.  Second slice tasted better and by the third slice I decided I liked it.  DH did not though but that is nothing unusual with him, not a lover of any bread.

Disaster today when I resurrected a Janie Turner Recipe for Oaty Batter Bread.I made it years ago at one of her cookery classes.God knows where I went wrong, but the Moorhen Chicks will be delighted.Back to the drawing board with that recipe.

Today I made a vegetable rice...basically rice with peppers, courgettes, onions, garlic in a buttery sauce in Herman.

Then found some wraps I had already, filled them full of the rice, a splot of smoked pepper sauce and a dollop of sour cream, rolled them up and ate them...delicious and simple.
