They look fantastic Chookie. I’d much rather bake than do housework.

Thanks for linking the recipe Judy.
I’m making jam here while the weather is cool. In the TMX made strawberry and cranberry jam. Today, nectarine and cranberry. Picked up the green windfall apples and used these as a base for the jam.
There is going to be very little home grown fruit this year due to seasonal conditions. Bought fruit is very expensive and poor quality.

It certainly is Chookie. I’m sick of buying hard stone fruit that doesn’t ripen properly and ends up in the bin. I had some home grown plums given to me recently, it was nice to taste some real fruit at last.

This is the bread I made the other day. It’s nice but doesn’t have the flavour or easiness of the Classic Loaf.

I’ve had fun in the kitchen today making Creamy Asparagus Soup, White Chocolate Sago Pudding

and a loaf of bread for my B & B puddings. Inspired by the lovely bread photos Chookie and cookie often post.

You have been busy Judy.
I made some strawberry shortbread biscuits today. They were supposed to be cranberry but I had some dried strawberries to use up.

I’ve got a packet of dried strawberries I bought at Costco cookie, thought they’d be OK blitzed for my breakfast smoothies in winter when fresh strawberries are pretty tasteless. Not a lot of recipes out there for dried strawberries, you obviously chopped them for your cookies, so are they now soft? Up at Beerenberg factory in Hahndorf they sell single whole dried strawberries dipped in chocolate - they’re delicious.

The Beerenberg ones sound delicious Judy.
I got my strawberries from Costco too. I just chopped each one in 3 and used them.
Today I used JulieO’s recipe and made some quite small finger buns. They are only for us, so no icing or glaze.

Cookie, your Classic loaf takes some beating, however it’s nice to try different recipes.
More jam. Had some Mandarins that looked a bit sad. Cooked them whole and ten blitzed them in TMX. Also made some small Turkish rolls. Made some quite small ones and medium size ones.

I had a couple of jars of cream left over from Christmas so decided to make some butter. It's actually the first time I have ever made it in the tmx. It took a little longer to separate but I suppose that was because it was not fresh. DH & DS said it passed the taste test.

That’s surprising that you hadn’t made butter before this Margaret, a messy but worthwhile job. I used to never seem to have enough ice made for the final step.
