Gave the TMX a good workout today. 1 lot of Chilly sauce and 2 lots of citrus jam. Yesterday made faux butter with olive oil and cashew and macadamia nuts. Quite nice. Also a loaf in the bread machine. Had 2 bowls running hot.

Was the butter Alyce Alexandra's recipe Chookie?  How did it work out?  I was thinking about making some this weekend.

I made a cake called a Hinkler cake today. It’s quite nice. https://www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/bundaberg/new-book-is-serving-up-a-sweet-slice-of-bert-hinkler/news-story/cbed1df39ea1430a6af0aaa6d05b8f2d
It has an interesting story attached to it.

It sounds delicious cookie and I can imagine the excitement that day in Bundaberg when he returned. We visited Hinkler House when we went on our 5 month campervan  trip back in 1991.

Made 2 new dips today. A roast pumpkin one that had ground almond added. An unpeeled clove of garlic, thyme and rosemary were also roasted with the garlic. Also a red capsicum dip which included pine nuts. Both nice.
Marina, yes that was Alyce’s recipe. It is well worth making. I’ve been using it in cooking. Also made a Skinny mixers seed butter. This is more like peanut butter. Would be nice with banana on toast.
Made a small loaf in bread machine.
Next door neighbour arrived home from holiday os.  Very ill. asked her if she would like anything to eat. She said a honey sandwich. I was glad I had fresh bread.

Your poor neighbour Chookie. It’s not fun getting ill on holidays.

Thanks for  your confirmation of the butter, Chookie.  Your poor neighbour, she must have had a totally horrendous time travelling home when she was that unwell.  I hope she recovers soon.

Busy weekend's cooking this weekend, an American pasta salad, Scottish flapjacks (more like a granola bar, no resemblance to what we think of as flapjacks), roast vege frittata, Broccoli and cauliflower bake and a "cheesy" pizza bean mixture (with loads of extra silverbeet loaded underneath as my garden has gone mad and I had to use some up before it bolted).

I made a Classic loaf and a Seeded loaf from Cookidoo. Ive made the seeded loaf before and have followed the recipe from my ipad. Today i followed Cookidoo on the tmx. The dough was very sloppy and while it was rising i checked the recipe. In the procedure Cookidoo had left out 2 lots of flour. Both 100g. I wasnt impressed.
I also made some biscuits from today’s paper.  They are very nice.

I’m experimenting with potato bread. Yesterday I made a small loaf using Deb potato. Next, mashed potato and potato water.
The Deb loaf was very nice with a very fine crumb.
Cookie how frustrating with that recipe from Cookidoo. I find that more often than not, I read through a recipe and do a mental check to see if it will work.

I tried a new recipe for Sultana Slice.  Probably won't make it again as it was quite dry.
