May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Cookie, for your "museli bar thing" give this a thought.  It is called flapjacks, which is the Scottish name for this type of snack.  I have made it several times and taken it in to work, it never lasts long - in fact, I have to get in early if I want any!  https://domesticgothess.com/blog/2018/05/18/vegan-fruit-and-nut-flapjacks/ I prefer the maple syrup to golden syrup.

Thanks Marina. That is our type of thing. I always seem to be making something with lots of oats in it. I will plan for them as soon as the biscuit barrel is empty. I love the pepitas and fruit in them.

Might make Helen Goh’s Bran muffins. In the Age weekender newspaper.
No other baking as I’m going shopping. Ballarat Farmers Market and new summer clothes.

Made Broccoli and ham pasta bake from Cookidoo. Used bacon instead of ham added fresh rockling fish pieces . Hopefully it’s tasty .

I made some Vegetable Rissoles thinking they would be good for me to eat.  Unfortunately they wouldn't go down so I mashed them up and made them into a soup.  The soup was nice.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

Made RTE's marinated roast vege salad again this week ... and allowed appropriate time for marinating this time!  Also going to a friend's 70 tomorrow so decided to make a 60s school treat - coconut rough slice.  I had forgotten how yummy it was - hope he likes it - if not I could make a good dent in it on his behalf

Marina, you made me laugh. Hope you enjoy it.
Yesterday I made coconut biscuits and Almond crackle biscuits. Both from my blog. The coconut ones turned out as good for dunking in tea or coffee. Bl@@# y oven.
I’ve lots of bottled Apples. I made up a Vanilla cake mix, stirred through some bottled apples , spices and slivered almonds and made a slice. Nice.
I’ve made some more Strawberry conserve. Put it in small bottles. I’ve just realised that each bottle contains 1 carton of strawberries.

Marina and Chookie you have been busy.
I remember coconut rough slice well. I love the sound of your apple cake Chookie. Our biscuit barrel is nearly empty. I will need to refill it tomorrow. It’s going to be 38 tomorrow. I think I might make your slice Marina.

Let me know how it goes, Cookie.

The coconut rough didn't turn out as well as I had hoped so there will be some 'doctoring' done to it today to see if I can save it.

Made up a cheese scone recipe. I love a savoury muffin so why not a savoury scone. ? Made full recipe of Nay Nay’s-scone recipe. Divided it in 1/2. Made 6 plain scones with one 1/2 and to the other 1/2 added 80 g of grated very tasty cheese , a large handful of chopped black olives, ( rinses) and a large pinch of chilli flakes. Gave it a wiz in TMX and it made 8 scones. Topped with more grated cheese. These were so tasty I will certainly make them again.

Prepared red silk chicken and mushroom risotto for Melbourne family. When they arrives we decided to go out for lunch. They took the prepared food home.  This was very ok as DIL has just had an operation on her foot and isn’t cooking much.
We also visited the very trendy nursery/ cafe. The new , must go to place in Ballarat.

Lovely to go out Chookie.
Your savoury scone looks tasty. One of Mum’s favourites was a cheese, Sundried tomato and Basil scone.
Marina I didn’t make your slice today, it was too hot to have the oven on today. Not to mention I couldn’t be bothered.

Cookie, love the bit about “ couldn’t be bothered “. That’s how I feel in hot weather.
GS loved the Roast Pork. He has always been a picky eater. I asked what he didn’t like now as an adult. mushrooms and nuts.
I didn’t make bread sticks for the garlic bread so cut the crusts off a bread machine loaf. Very good. Lots of garlic butter and cooked in AF.
Waffles with Maple Syrup and cream.
Got up early and made Portuguese Custard Tarts to take to morning tea. Gave rest to Tai Chi teacher and neighbours.

Enjoyed Morning Tea. She is 90 and uses a walking frame, lives at the village where we have our Tai Chi classes. Has no family nearby and it is her Birthday next week. I’m taking her to Creswick for lunch. Made me appreciate how lucky I am to have such good friends , family and neighbours.
