I made some crumpets the other day. I used the Cookidoo recipe and found it delicious.

I made an apple seed loaf that had no sugar or sweetener. No one likes it, so I will have to eat it all by myself. For the fussy people I made a Weetbix Slice. You soak the fruit in hot tea and just add all the ingredients. Very easy and apparently tasty.

Visitor for tea so we had zucchini pasta with garlic prawns then apple pie with custard. Chookie I used a bottle of those preserved apples you make, very nice and it all went down a treat.

A couple of nights ago I decided I was fit and capable enough to finally cook dinner.  I found a nice easy recipe, lemon garlic butter beans.  All I will say is, I managed not to drop anything and the meal cooked as expected - but it was very, very lemony.  I quite liked it, but DH said it was the worst thing I had cooked for a very long time.  Ah well, back to the drawing board.

At least he was honest Marina. Is he cooking dinner next evening?

I made a slice that is like an Anzac on the base and a brownie on the top. I snuck a piece and it’s delicious.

Yes, DH has cooked a few meals, but we are surviving mainly on takeaways at the moment.

Interesting slice Cookie.
Each week I try and protect one day as a “me day “ today is such. I’m going to do some experimental baking. I’m going to try making a savoury version of Portuguese Custard Tarts. They are to be the new craze in Melbourne. Cookidoo has the custard part, but the need a Puff base. I’ll see what happens when I combine 2 recipes.

A "me" day sounds like an excellent idea Chookie, you always seem to be so busy all the time.

The savoury Portuguese custard tarts sound really interesting.  I had never heard of them - a whole new concept to tackle.
