Chookie made her creamy crab soup

for our lunch today. She also added a small can of prawns and served it with freshly made garlic croutons which, when soaked for a while, I could eat.

When you head back home, Judy, you had better pack Chookie into your suitcase and take her with you!

Chookie you are amazing. Well done. Congratulations Judy on discovering new things you can eat.
I've only made a SD loaf that I started yesterday but didn't get time to complete.

It’s easy when someone is cooking for you cookie, I’ll just have to make more time in the kitchen once back on Sunday night. I certainly feel heavier!

We are all excited for you Judy . Chookie you are a star .
I found some marrow bones and chuck bones for Bone broth . A big pot on all arvo and tonight . It’s reduced a lot . I’ll stay it up tomorrow morning after skimming off the fat .

KAtie, the bone broth is so easy to make and so expensive to buy. Maggie Beer has it for sale for $8.20 for 500 mls. If you are travelling through Ballarat, there is a wholesale Butcher called Davis who sell the bones cheaply.

Thank you Chookie . I actually had some of Maggie’s chicken bone broth in the cupboard and that’s what inspired me to do my own . I’ll have a look at Davis butcher too.

I am getting 'itchy' hands to be cooking again, but I am still not allowed to stand on my foot and the only way I can get around at the moment is on my knee scooter. Using hot utensils, pots, pans, etc. would simply be too dangerous at the moment. I look forward to getting back to the bench as soon as possible, but I think it will still be a while before I feel confident enough. I will see what my surgeon says at my review later this week.

Marina maybe a one pot meal , layered cooking . All on one put it on and DH can serve it up . The best thing about the TMX was when we would come home after sport and I’d put fish or chicken tenders on tray , vegetables in the bowl ,rice in the basket and water bottom 18 mins Varoma speed 4 . I simmered my bone broth ,after taking a layer of fat off ,for the morning . Strained it kept the marrow bones that still looked like I could cook up still to get the good bits out , but I’ll see could be fatty bits . Today I’ll remove the fat and see what I have left !
