It certainly looks a bit 'hairy'. Especially for us West Aussies who don't have any real hills. We had a fit when we went to Bateman's Bay going down that hill from Canberra with the van on. We also 'enjoyed' going up Brown mountain to Cooma. Not much fun with an 18 foot caravan on behind.

I think the worst part about Jacobs Ladder is that the road isnt wide enough for 2 cars so people going down need to give way to people going up. and sometimes the road is covered in snow and snow chains are needed. When its not covered in snow its wet and muddy. And as a passenger looking down the steep hill its quiet nerve racking.

Had 3 yr old GS for a sleepover last night so for lunch today I made Cookie's tuna macaroni bake and the rice pudding from the EDC.  Satisfied the little fellow nicely.

I've been cooking up a storm over the last 2 days inspired partly from going to my very first TM demonstration yesterday  :o

I came home and straight away made my first sorbet - the kids loved it (as did I but shhh), then a made some bread (honey and seed).  Today I've made red pepper and tomato soup, chicken stock paste, beef stock paste and a carrot cake (steamed in the varoma)  The carrot cake came out of the varoma and I dropped it (sunny side up) straight into the sink!.

Thank goodness its just for home consumption - I picked off the potato peelings and cave it straight to the kids  ;)  ;D

No one knows if you don't tell them. :D
I remember when we lived in the bush DH and the cooking teacher often you used to plan together so she would come round for dinner. DH had requested a special dessert to show her. BUT when I went to the flour it had weevils in and of course no shop to pop down to. I very carefully sifted the weevils out and made the dessert, I even managed to eat some of it.

LOL Cookie.....extra protein, never hurt anyone  :P

This morning I made cupcakes, from Louisa's whole orange cake, which makes for a beautiful tasting cake  :-*

I made orange cream icing, from the creamy vanilla frosting posted on Steph Bergs site.
I must say, when I read it, I thought it was bizarre.....but my, it makes a very thick and velvety icing  :-*
I omitted the vanilla extract, and added that weight in fresh orange juice, and 2 tsp. finely grated orange rind.
.........EAT CAKE!

LOL Nik & Cookie. I think events such as these are essential boosts to kids (and adults) immune systems ;D

Maddy those cupcakes look positively divine!

They look lovely Maddy and on beautiful crockery too. I love the sprinkle of silver.

More bread here today and some orange shortbread biscuits. I'll post the recipe if they are nice.
