I have made another batch of goodl old fashioned chicken & veggie soup. Yoghurt is on the go.... We will see how that turns out.

Well we are out for lunch. Its a ploy by DH to stop me cooking, we have soup, loads of  bread, left over pizza and a loin of pork to be eaten. He figures i would cook all day if we stayed home, yes he is right I would.

So f you want a nice lunch out, just  keep cooking...LOL

Its a beautiful day in perth,  so nice to go alfresco

Have DS and DDIL coming for tea at short notice - checked the fridge and mmmm seem to have all the ingredients required to cook this JO asparagus, lemon and mint risotto.  Looking for a nice vege soup or something chick-peaish too.

Vivaoo what a great combo - Maleny and a food festival.  Chelsea would love to be there too - Chels hope you see this as a reminder!!!!!!!!
It was a nice day out, gorgeous weather.  I bought kale as I've never seen it before, and some seeds:  kale & warrigal greens. TMX were demonstrating and my kids kept stealing the chocolate custard samples.  Now I'm home to bake another quiche with some silverbeet that was grown by a local school, huge bunch for $1. I should really be in the garden but who would cook?

Cecilia,  i posted a recipe for A tomato soup that has a tin of chickpeas in it.  Also has watercress but you could use parsley.

have been cooking and posting all day, wonderful.  Have made Fried rice, Belly pork, cooked to Judy's instructions. Tenina's Dried Apricot Preserves.  Malted Grain Bread, Indian Patties  and left overs for tea.
It is cold ,raining and hail, perfect day to spend indoors.

I'm making old fashioned lemonade Page 20 F&EC (UK) I will make the fruit spread afterwards Page 162 F&EC (UK) This spread is absolutely fab on top of my yogurt. I am also making traditional Cottage pie. I shall freeze several. I am also making some mini bundt tin cakes. I just haven't decided yet on the flavour. I like Banana and nuts and also the whole orange cake is nice but I fancy something outrageous for when visitors drop by. I am leaning towards an apple and amaretto recipe that has just appeared in one of my books. I shall quickly convert it to the Thermy. If it is super, I will put the recipe up.

The usual weekend tussle over who gets to use the thermie!  DH has made a great jerk paste for some pork pieces, and a bottle of strawberry vodka shots from the MWOC book (he know's the way to my heart......  ;)).
I've made a batch of lentil and kidney bean soup from this forum and spiced it up with some tikka paste, plus a batch of Tenina's Umami Paste. I didn't have enough walnuts so added some hazelnuts, but it was still delicious. I wonder if adding a few semi sundried tomatos to the mix would help if the tomatos you're using are a bit lacking in flavour (I didn't have roma toms and the 'normal' ones were a bit lacklustre).
It's 25 degrees in Perth today, spring is coming !!!

Had a busy one this weekend, CADA, Iron booster Balls and "Healthy"Chocolate truffles, cornflake biscuits, Chickpea and pumpkin stew, Thermomixer's Cauliflower and Potatoes and, because I had cauliflower, potatoes and tomato puree left over I made a concotion from that as well!

I forgot to add that I made the frozen mango bars the other day and they are gorgeous.  Roll on mango season (I used tinned mangos this time, looking forward to the real thing when fresh mangos are cheap).

Thanks, JD.  I got interrupted towards the end of the cooking so potatoes and cauliflower got a bit over cooked, but they weren't too bad.  I would be inclined to grind the spices a little - particularly the coriander as the whole coriander seeds were just a bit too coarse for my liking, but that is purely personal preference.  Hope you enjoy it Hally.

:) Yesterday I made, anzac biccies, choc custard, custard, pea and ham soup.
Also a huge focacia bread and dips for yesterday afternoon.

Minced up 20 big bulbs of garlic.
chopped up 8 leeks from the vege garden, and froze for potato and leek soup.
Corn silverside for dinner, with becemel sauce.

Today is chicken soup, and more when I get home.
My vege garden is saving up $40-$50 a week now.
