which book was that in chelsea? i must get her books

I borrowed them from the library and am very hooked.  Am going to have to buy them now.  The "Changing Habits, Changing Lives" book talks about sickness and what to eat (but doesn't have the recipes for the rice salad and barley soup in it).

They sound good Chelsea, I need something to put me right again.  I've been sick on and off for weeks now.
I might order them from the Library.

The books have certainly changed my thinking.  I am undecided about a few things that Cyndi says ("I believe" statements, rather than proven scientific facts) but generally I would recommend them to anyone.  We had a big change in our weekly groceries (what we actually bought) when we first bought the thermomix and then some more big changes after reading Cyndi's books.  I really think we are headed on the right path.

Karen, the date sloice was real winner!
I had no walnuts or pecans left so I bunged in 1/2 cup of coconut and it was lovely.
I'm very fond of ginger and next time I might put some fresh grated ginger in too!
Thanks.

Been on a bit of a roll this morning...

TM started out with porridge for the younger boys, then as I cleaned it I decided to make some bread rolls.  While they were proving I figured I'd make some of the Tomato Dahl from the EDC... only I had to make the Garam Masala first. :P

Friend arrived unexpected for lunch so we had the dahl and some rolls with yoghurt. Mmmmmmm :D

Some left for the kids a bit later..... perhaps.

Now for the fudgey wudgey cookies........ :-))

Made some turnip soufflés in the Varoma - sure everybody is going to want the recipe (NOT) but I had fun - intend to see how they go twice-cooked.

Well, I love turnip and it may be able to be adapted to cheese (the original recipe) and more normal foods - even chocolate - so now you're all listening.  ;) ;) ;D

I would be interested in the recipe. For the last 5 years I have done low carb to control my weight & blood sugar & cholesterol so I don't eat potatoes as a rule and discovered I like turnips & rutabagas.

I cooked the Spanish Potatoes and Prawns from the English TMX Cookbook and they were absolutely amazing - full of flavour and certainly one I'll be doing again.

And the cat was pleased because she could lick out the bowl that I stored the prawn stock in...
