Just sautéed a whole TMX jug of Mushrooms for DD. Got my marching orders (in typical 2 year old fashion) to the shop as that is what she wanted lol. Nothing else would appease her, not even her second favourite of scrambled eggs. She is quite sick and miserable and hasn't really eaten anything for a couple of days. She has just eaten a huge bowl of mushrooms and wants more  :-)) :-)) :-)) This child is addicted to mushrooms.  :o ;D We want to buy her a mushroom farm but really don't have anywhere to put it (need a bigger house lol)

Sorry to hear about your daughter faffa - hope she recovers soon for both her and your sake  ;)

Today we've whipped up pumpkin soup, 2 batches of Cape Seed Bread (oh by the way in the latest cook books this is called 5 Seed Bread), some raison bread, vegies and gravy to go with the roast lamb and now just converting a  Steamed Spinach Dumplings with Fresh Tomato and Herb Sauce in a last minute effort to get something to Tenina...  ???

Hubby made Bimby Queen's Chocolate Melting Center Cakes. We had invited over the friends we went on the cruise with, and that cake was their favorite dessert on the boat. I remembered seeing it here, so I kept quiet and surprised them with it. They were teary eyed  :D

Oh well done MrSpock - I can imagine how pleased your fellow shipmates were. My favourite desserts on board are always souffles as I never do them at home.

Aw, we didn't get no souffles! Why do you not make them at home? Seems like they're one of the hard to make food that has a high success rate using the TMX.

Well Thermomixer, you are one step ahead of us already with your risotto recipe already in hand. As for the sea urchin custards, what planet did you say you came from ??? ??? ???

LOL - Thermanus ??  Actually, the sea urchin custard recipe is Stephanie Alexander's - it is based on a recipe from France.  Sea urchin is a bit like eating the orange roe from scallops.  They were delicious.

I made a Jane Lawson "Cocina Neuva" recipe for Chilli Mussels adapted to the TMX - it worked really well, cooked the mussels in the Varoma while making the sauce/mix for mixing with the mussel meat.

I even remove the orange roe from scallops - boring aren't I  :-)) :-)) :-))  Does Mrs T like all these exotic recipes you come up with?

ROFL - I usually present them without a name and in 99% of cases she loves them.  BUT THEN .... when I tell her what was in them ... like when I gave her a turnip souffle for dessert !!!   She said it was delicious, great texture - superb -- then she tried to spit everything back out.  :o :o :o :o

Poor thing - she was a bit tired of the chocolate and beetroot mixtures, and once it was a liver theme for a few meals.

She rarely complains about the chocolate desserts  -------- until she sees the bathroom scales in the morning  ;D ;D - but all is forgotten in the evening and chocolate dessert again.  :-)) :-))

I've seen a guy who cooks strange things like you on Ready Steady Cook some time back (when I had time to watch TV during the day, pre TMX days).  Do you know who I mean and is he your inspiration or perhaps you have one of his cook books - I thought of him when I read the ingredients in your beetroot/choccy thingy.  Lucky Mrs T - when she gets sick of your cooking you can come over here and cook for us if you like  ;) ;) ;) After all these years of the kitchen being my domain, wonder how I would handle a man in there - mmm, probably not :D :D :D

JD, I think Thermomixer must watch too much Iron Chef - they have WEIRD food  :-)) And some of their desserts are just mind boggling  :o

But hey - who said we need to stick to traditional themes hey Thermomixer  ;) ;D  Glad there's someone out there challenging our set ideas - because there is no way I could do it   :P
