Tonight I am making either Lentil Pie or African Quinoa Stew.  I am trying to cut our calories down in meals and the pastry in the Lentil Pie is an issue, all that fat blows out the calorie count.

Last night I made some Shepard's Pies (in ramekins with no pastry) and Old-fashioned Hermits.  The Hermits are quite nice and work out to about 90 calories each.  So not too bad as a treat and they are pretty tasty.

Hope I will get out to shops, then try more cookies later with my homemade stamp.
See what is in fridge before shopping!

Salad for lunch if time. First salad made in Thermy was a hit with DH and kept him full up. He needs more veg etc in his diet. Better day today, sunny. Yesterday we had heavy showers all day.

Like to make another home made soup. I eat home made always have. DH prefers Heninz tomato!

Probably a cake of some sort later too. But I do have leftover  crumble for tonight. Just make custard sauce to go with.

I put something in the other thread about lower fat pastry.

DD8 had a vegetarian friend over for a playdate, so good excuse to try veg. Sausage rolls - BIG hit! Also Anzac biscuits plus risotto for dinner - mushroom with the end of a salami I had in the fridge. No chance to cook for next few days 

Nonomix's banana and choc cake. Couldn't get muscovado sugar so used dark brown sugar. Result was yummy.

I settled on making the Lentil Pie with normal pastry. When I looked at the cream cheese pastry it only saved 11 calories per serving. No I am now going to make some salmon and potato patties to eat in the car tomorrow evening on our way to Perth to see Florence and the Machine in concert at the Burswood dome.

Apart from supper and lunch did no extra cooking. Water company cut us off, 2nd day running with  no notice.
Did 3 hrs gardening instead of cooking. Probably better for my waistline!

I saw the water company men in the road and challenged them, apparently they had no idea they'd turned us off.
Had to drink milk at lunch time, nothing else in the house!

Just got caught up on washing and washing up. First dry day in ages so lots of bedding and towels to wash. No room for a tumble dryer here.

Have you had a look at at the thread dede started Dash? Apparently you can substitute chia gel for butter and oil. Uni does this in bread, not sure about pastry?

Today I might do the egg & bacon pies mentioned on the forum recently.

I made 8 of them, using the EDC shortcrust pastry for the bottoms and bought puff pastry tops.  Delicious, we both ate 2 each for lunch.

Maddy, No its not her birthday till August.
Its make and bring time.
She has to make something, and bring to school.

So she loves making cupcakes, and muffins, so thats what we will do.
I'll ice them, then different sprinkles I think.

What sort of icing or frosting does anyone suggest.

Robyn
