The steel cut oats came from Mrs Flannerys.  They aren't cheap but they are very yummy and I only use about 30g a serve so a 500g packet which was about $6 I think, gives about 13 serves...so they aren't bad value.  It just nice to have a hot breakfast before tackling the nightmare that is the south east freeway at 6.30 in the morning.  I had got into the habit of skipping breakfast and then get so busy at work I don't have time for lunch.  Great for the weight loss.....not so good for the health.

Hi Tam, I'd love to hear how your wontons turn out tonight!!
Hi Amy,
The wontons turned out great - except I was impatient and didn't wait long enough for the edges to steam :'(. The kids totally loved them and I'll definitely be making them again.

Thanks Tam! Did you get the method from here or from a recipe book?

Great for the weight loss.....not so good for the health.

Hey stacelee, I hope you don't mind my input, but skipping meals isn't actually good for long term weight loss. In the short term it may make you lose weight, but it actually puts your body into starvation mode, so it will store more calories from your next meals in case you starve it again. In the long term it can actually cause weight gain :-[

Sorry if my advice in inappropriate, but I read that somewhere in a healthy eating magazine written by qualified dieticians. I just thought you might be interested :)

I made cheese and bacon rolls for the first time to go with pea and ham soup. They worked really well in my Thermo Chef and were a big hit with the family. The kids are going to take one each for lunch tomorrow and there are two more in the freezer for another day.
I also made banana and chop chip muffins with my son as part of his literacy homework. They didn't have to make the recipe, just answer questions about it, but I thought he would understand it better if he actually made them. He was really enthusiastic and we made two batches of mini muffins - one with the gluten free flour I made the other day and one with ordinary flour so he can take them to school tomorrow.

Am very happy - I got all the cooking I had planned done as well as 7 hard boiled eggs. But I had a minor disaster when I ran out of flour and found I did not actually have a bag in the bottom of the pantry - oops.  :-\ But... I only needed 150gm more in my bread, so made it up with GF flour, closed my eyes and carried on.... and guess what, you would never tell!!! I now have 3 happy girls who have been playing with playdoh most of the day (I did 4 different colors), 2 big pizzas cooling on the racks, hard boiled eggs cooling, & pizza scrolls, vegemite and cheese scrolls, a loaf of bread and some cheese and bacon buns on the hot mats just out of the oven!  ;D
Was your vegemite and cheese scroll recipe from here Astarra? I had a search but couldn't find it.

Yeah that is it, thanx CC. I find if you melt the vegemite in m/wave a bit first it is alot easier to spread evenly!! Just watch out for your supply if your DH finds them...! ;)

I've made a batch of Amanda's caramelised onions.  Could have cooked them a tad longer but that will happen when I put them on the BBQ later.
