Made Vanilla Ice cream from EDC,Cookie1's Dried Apricot ice cream.  Also used Cookie1's custard scrolls and Apple & cinnamon scroll recipes but made each one into a loaf/log. Also made a chocolate cake toped with ganache & buttermilk bread rolls for our steak sandwiches for dinner.

Oh no Faffa thats bad news. :(  Put a dash of whiskey/rum in your Honey & Lemon drink. It won't cure you but you will sleep well. May have to put DH on child night duties!! ;D

Yesterday made chocolate custard, Canadian Foodies yoghurt, put chicken wings on to marinate, and beef stroganoff and mashed potato for dinner.  Have lots of frozen cream in the freezer, but now when I look at the icecream recipes, most seem to use fresh cream.

Have to make jam today from my frozen berries.

Why not smoosh the frozen cream and the frozen berries together in the TM?
Berry icecream! ;D

Yes, have to try that. But I've had my eye on the chocolate, and salted maple icecreams to try.  And they use fresh cream.

Made some almond-butter-choc-chip cookies with Rapadura sweetened dark chocolate chips (spelt flour, dairy free) - they were yum!  Had 7 kids here so they appreciated them.  Also made a flourless nut cake out of hazelnuts and coffee (again, dairy free) - very moist, for the adults.  And made the salt cod and potato with tomato sauce out of the Varoma cookbook (except used Spanish mackeral) - that was DELICIOUS and made HEAPS!!!  The egg-free mayonnaise that you put on top of the fish I made with rice-almond-cashew milk, and mostly EVOO for the oil - it worked really well, which is nice, seeing the recipe in the vegetarian cookbook didn't work for me when I made it at a demo - embarassing!! :(  (Hint: don't make spur-of-the-moment recipes that you've never tried before at demos, even if asked to very nicely by host!!)
Oh, also made raw buckwheat granola (made with sprouted buckwheat, 'cooked' in dehydrator) - recipe coming!

Get better soon Kathryn!

Jo, you've been a busy lady today! 7 kids! I don't have the Varoma cookbook, is that Full Steam Ahead? Is it worth buying?

I wasn't very motivated to cook today as I wanted to make things for my Skinflint business. I made soy wax tarts today and bath bombs yesterday, but I did do some TMX cooking - EDC Coleslaw, some corned beef patties that I'm experimenting with because the cooked corned beef was tough and horrible, my Forget-Me-Bread with less yeast (not as good) and Meatloaf.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

MJ you can't buy it you have to hold a varoma demo to  either buy it at a discounted price or free if someone buys from your demo night

The Varoma cookbook is definately worth getting!!!  I love it!  I use my Varoma heaps more now that I have it, and love the recipes.  There's so many things I'd never thought of cooking in it!  and the Varoma demo is worth having too - you'll find it really helpful.

Spoken like a true consultant - only joking  :-* :-*  I have access to it through the Italian and Spanish versions online and for me it is a useful book, but many have said that they food seems weird and not to our tastes - strange combinations.

Think that I would buy it - but just annoys me that you HAVE to have a Varoma demo  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Yesterday, despite the heat I made red cabbage and apple (to try improving the English cookbook recipe - which cooks the cabbage in the oven or stovetop - can't remember - but not in the TMX) which we will eat tonight.  Also, just to be perverse with the heat, I made a vegetarian curry with all the vegetables in the fridge and pantry that couldn't get away.  It was delicious - based on an old recipe that I used to cook frequently.  I will endeavour to write something up to give you ideas - if not an exact formula.

Made more bread too - was going to be a ciabatta ( for Gretchen's appraisal) but was in a hurry and didn't leave it as long as I should - so it rose and looks and tastes good, but non eof those BIG holes from long proving, so i'll do another for pics.
