well as you do when you have a new machine i've been busy too. yesterday we made a cooked breakie of steamed eggs, then  scones with cream, watched while someone else did meringue, mayonaise, coleslaw and choc chip biccies. Then did anzac bikkies, more bread, and some yoghurt.

Today - did a fantastic mango, banana, and cashew nut smoothie for breakkie.  Did the sugar coated almonds which are still cooling. Not sure whats next. I think we will have risotto for dinner tho. :)

Brazen's Mums cake came out of the oven latish last night and smelled lovely. I cut it this morning so DD could take some to work and it looks lovely and moist. In fact the very centre isn't quite cooked (my fault, not the cakes) so tonight we'll have the centre of the cake and custard for sweets.
 I also made the Blue Cheese and Walnut shortbread from the Festive book. It isn't cooked yet as I put it directly into the freezer. We had a prawn and salmon risotto for dinner. It was the best risotto we've ever had and I couldn't work out why, then I realised it was the first time I'd ever used the butterfly to make risotto. It sure makes a difference.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

It was the best risotto we've ever had and I couldn't work out why, then I realised it was the first time I'd ever used the butterfly to make risotto. It sure makes a difference.

It seemed creamier. My theory will probably crash when we have it next time with the butterfly and it isn't as good. But for the moment....................

Made Thermomixer's steamed eggs and toast for breakfast, 2 lots of sugared almonds  :-)) and a tasty zucchini slice, using the TM to chop and grate the veg.  ;D

Got my second "triple" batch of Raspberry Cordial going at the moment and then the sugared almonds are in the second bowl ready to go.

Today I made boiled eggs for breakfast then did the Orange and almond cake (so good) then made quick chicken curry for dinner, did not have coconut milk so used normal milk and then a bit of cornflour to thicken at the end. Oh also made myself a cappacino.

  Does that cordial pass the test with DD ILB?  Anyone know how long it keeps in the fridge.  My 40 yr old son-in-law loves red cordial, might make him a bottle for Christmas.

Yes JD - it was declared "Yummy" and was quiet impressed that I made it! She drank her whole drink so Ill take that as a success. I would recommend at least 1 lemon per regular batch quantity. I wasnt sure about it at first but it really does finish it off nicely and balances it out.  ;D Will do a review tomorrow.

Thanks also for trying the steamed eggs - you can put some spinach underneath to make an eggs florentine type dish too.

mmmm.... everyone talking about sugared almonds - where do I get me that recipe!!!!

Oh and last night we made the carob sorbet - AMAZINGLY yummy, but a note to self - when you use the TM to melt the sugar etc etc, make sure it's cooled right down before throwing in ice! We only got a little bit of frozen stuff and had to refreeze the rest! Blonde moment.

HellyBelly you shouldn't need to melt the sugar. Just grind it on speed 9-10 for 10 seconds to make it icing sugar consisancy, then add your ice. Easy!

The sugared Almonds are under the Christmas subject - or click on "Show unread posts since last visit" at the top and they're bound to come up.
