Oh boy . I cannot believe how expensive tomatoes are up here at this time of the year. I wanted to buy a case to make several sauces and even if they were not up to scratch they were too expensive.
So I was s just cruising Woolies and I saw an older lady a bit like me picking over the truss tomatoes and twisting the tomatoes off. Truss $8.95 a kilo. Loose $5.98 a kilo . The tomatoes were large and luscious so ...........

Naughty Gert. But I'm sure woollies can afford it.

I've been given a few kilos of tomatoes from mums neighbour, with the request to make a small jar of pasta sauce for him and whatever for me. Made a batch of KIS basic sugo sauce. He's happy and I've got enough toms left for another two more batches tomorrow.
I also made apricot balls, jersey caramel balls and a bakewell tart cake.

I made quirkyjo's frozen banana macadamia ice cream with caramel sauce. It was incredible! I think next time I would skip the sauce (my bf didn't like the taste of the coconut cream) and just use straight maple syrup in the ice cream and on top.

Lovely pull apart JulieO.

I made a choc chip slice, a non tmx recipe given to me by a friend.  Very rich and I'm not sure I would make it again.

I made julie goodwin's tomato relish, my DH has loads of tomatoes growing at the moment. Also, Merk Tart (milk), I think that's how you spell it, from the Recipe Community, it's South African and it is delicious. My DH gave it a 10/10.
