Not sure if it was from here but I love steaming fresh eggs in the Varoma , so easy to peel.

You know how difficult freshly laid eggs are to peel?  I filled my varoma basket with eggs, about a dozen, the jug to about a litre and cooked varoma 20 minutes.  I used hot water and next time will reduce cooking time.  I can't remember where I read it, they said 20 minutes on varoma, I think that must be from cold.  Fresh eggs peeled easily.

I've never had freshly laid eggs Bedlam, the normal ones are hard enough!  ;D

Thanks for the tips, will def give it a go as I need a couple to go with a salad I'm making in a few days.  :D

I soak my boiled eggs in cold water for a while before peeling them Julie, it does make peeling a lot easier.

Today I've made Kiwi Coconut Cream Pies and a zucchini salad from a CWA recipe book Katie gave me.

Tonight I made another recipe from the CWA book but added a couple more ingredients as it just wasn't going to cut it without egg and milk in the recipe.  Eggless Apricot Biscuits, I've eaten 1 plain, 2 sandwiched with apricot jam and 2 sandwiched with Nutella. They're like a little cakey type biscuit.  No tea for me tonight after eating 5 biscuits :-))

Today I made 7 jars of tomato relish.  We have so many tomatoes this year that I am having trouble keeping up with them.

Sorry no photos as the camera is still out of action. :(

Will try more soaking time too Judy.  I usually sit them in cold water to chill enough so I can pick them up to peel, but maybe I need to leave for a bit longer.  Will try the V method tomorrow first and see how I go.  ;D

I've always wanted to try the Smoked Cod Kedgeree Chookie, how did you enjoy it?

It was tasty and light. Excellent for lunch.
There was enough left to have with grilled salmon and salad, for lunch today.
The recipe I used was from, Readers Digest, healthy 1 dish cooking.

The comments about the fresh laid eggs. I steam my eggs in the basket.  The 5 seems different to the 31 for this.  In the 5, place  500 of  cold water, temp 100, 14 minutes , speed 1, for hard boiled. As soon as cooked , place in a bowl of cold water, crack the shells and put in fresh cold water. The shells should come off fairly easily.

Julie, I don't have as much energy as I had when I was younger.  76 this year so not doing too bad.

Judy I compared Thermomixers one with the one I made. Mine has cumin, coriander powder,curry powder, frozen peas and chopped fresh tomato added at the end and just warmed through. I rather liked the veggies in it.  It also had onion cooked at the start.
There was a greater amount of rice in mine in relation to fish.  I did add more fish.
I can post recipe but would like to have a go at converting it first.
