We had the meatballs in the Varoma with the tomato sauce in the bowl. It was lovely. I also made some maple syrup cookies.

Yoghurt, Aubergine Cheesecake (but with zucchini), Granola (Nigella's recipe, didn't work....), crumble topping for Apple and Banana Crumble, MCM's (similar to LTM's, but my version, will post soon).

My yoghurt is in the fridge. I used the rest of the pot that I used for the starter to make yoghurt cheese, that's in the fridge, draining still.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Made Maddy's wonderful veg. soup ( with bacon and pasta), 4 doz HCB. for the Elderly Citz's.  The last dozen made with Coconut oil and rice milk.   Looked the same and tasted the same. ;D.  2 large jars of Tomato Sauce., and double quantity of white sauce from EDC.

I've made a creamy prawn sauce and bolognaise sauce for the freezer in preparation for Easter visitors.  Made a batch of dukkah - an acquired taste I think, then again DH and I had both just eaten so it was more a taste test than anything.  Know some of the family will love it though and probably end up taking a jar home with them.
Thought I was going to be in all sorts of trouble with my Easter baking as my oven wouldn't work after a power failure. Rang Miele who suggested I try something which I did and no, it didn't work so they were coming out on Thursday and charging a $145 call out fee.  Was telling ILB about it and luckily for me she had experienced the same problem - you have to reset the clock before the oven will go on.  Now why didn't the girl from Miele tell me that ??? ???  Out with the manual as I had no idea how to reset the clock and hey presto, a working oven.  So my best friend in the whole wide world at this minute is ILB  :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* thank you dear friend.

Today I used TMX just to re-heat some snags and steam some veggies.
I read an article recently about microwaves and the changes they make to food at a cellular level. Scarey.
So, trying to really limit using the Microwave now. DH thinks I've gone mad .. again.

Read the Dried apricot jam recipe last night and am intrigued... might give that a birl on the weekend.

Have done Isi's Portuguese bread a few times now... love it. So do my dogs if I don't store my cute little mini loaves appropriately. But at least they didnt get the Marguerite loaf.

:) :)

:D KL! No, you haven't gone mad, you'll be safe as houses now.

JD, so glad that ILB worked out the problem for you! How frustrating!

I've been in meetings all day, so no cooking today  :-\. Same again tomorrow too - Local Govt stuff.

So glad I was able to help JD! I only know from experience when I actually had something baking and of course the power went off, then on, but the oven wouldn't turn back on. Later in the day I contact the land lord to tell her the oven had died, but thankfully she told me about re-setting the clock! Too late to save what was only half cooked, but a huge help since!

JD, just can't believe that silly girl didn't tell you to try that!! Surely it must be a common problem  ??? ??? :-))

More cooking for Easter today.  A batch of spring rolls, a mars bar slice and Isi's Coffee Cream dessert, only this time I made a mocha one.  DH have been eating bits and pieces out of the freezer for the past couple of days - haven't got time to cook for us and visitors as well  :-)) :-))

LOL - JD. It's sad when we don't have time to cook for ourselves, just to prepare for ahead of time! Though I bet you're appreciating making some room in the freezer  8)

That reminds me Thermomixer - can I get those instructions from you on hooking up the fax to the computer please? Then I can free my bedroom of the un-wanted fax machine  :-* :-*

We had the chicken sausage roll. It was very nice, especially with the TMX made Sweet Chilli sauce.

Over the last few days I've made Chocolate Alternative, Tuna Mornay, and Raw Cacao Treat Balls.  Hope the kids at pre-prep appreciate home made easter eggs.

Heard a rumour that Easter Egg prices have increased dramatically this year because of the price of milk powder.  Had to laugh - what does the price of milk powder have to do with the price of easter eggs?  Oh wait, that's why I don't buy them  ;)!
