Ooh it is not nice that your SD is sick Chookie.
I have been thinking seriously about RTE vegetarian hamburgers. Are they nice? They certainly sound it.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Ooh it is not nice that your SD is sick Chookie.
I have been thinking seriously about RTE vegetarian hamburgers. Are they nice? They certainly sound it.
SD starter is in recovery mode. I put a small amount into a jar, fed it with organic flour and filtered water and stirred it often.  Even spoke nice words to it.
It developed bubbles after a few hours but no SD smell. After about 24 hours in a warm spot , it is starting to smell ok. Not strong.
The original SD starter, about 8 cups, I didn’t want to waste.  No bubbles, no smell.
I used it to make SD crumpets.  They are the best crumpets I have ever made.  I know there is a lesson here but I don’t know what it is. ,!!

I made RTE, Veggie Burgers.  I made double the recipe.  It made 15.  Bit of a challenge as the TMX wanted to make mash out of everything.  I ended up chopping ingredients for 2 seconds ar a time.
I folded in the rice and breadcrumbs by hand.
To test flavour, I cooked a small patty. It lacked flavour but I think this was because I didn’t put the shallots in.  I added spring onion tops and parsley.  This did the trick.
I would recommend the recipe but it does take time. I have cooked them , as recommended, to freeze.  They are for my GD.
No photo as they look just like the ones in the RTE s photo

Thanks CC.  I made about 50.  Will take some to Creswick swap this morning.  Some also to neighbours.
Not much cooking today.

It’s great that you were able to use that SD Chookie.  Fancy it making the best batch of crumpets yet!

I made a batch of Cheese & Bacon Puffshttp://www.bestrecipes.com.au/recipe/cheese-and-bacon-puffs-L1419.html for our lunch.  We had them with a little bit of salad.  I chopped the bacon and onion in the tmx, sauted them then added everything else and mixed them on reverse for a few seconds.  I didn't use any corn.  Sorry, no photo as they are all gone.

Thanks for the information re RTE vegetarian burgers Chookie. I think I will give them a go soon.
Margaret the puffs sound nice.
I would love one of those crumpets with my evening coffee Chookie.
I realised we were low on bread and my starter is in the fridge, so I made another loaf of Chookie’s cold oven chia bread. We all enjoy it.

DD and GD loved the RTE patties.   I am glad that I made double.  They were reheated in the oven .  I think the AF would be good too.

The loaf looks lovely Chookie. Did you put it into a cold oven?

I made some cupcakes yesterday. They were for home so minimal icing.
